Best weapon?
What is the best weapon you could possibly have? So, out of all the weapons which weapon or weapons do the most damage and are the most effective and all that? I don't really have much experience with that so I don't really know.

There they are ranked to how much damage they do. Also watch skillweight: damage done is calculated with use of strength and fighting skill. The skillweight of a weapon shows you how much each of these skills 'count' in the calculations. For example, a crossbow has a skillweight of 80, which means that in the calculation, fighting skill is counted for 80 percent, and strength for 20.
So, if you have a char that's strong, but not so good at fighting, you might prefer a battle axe or claymore, as they have a much lower skillweight.

Re: Best weapon?
Sometimes people can deal over 70 damage with a battle axe or a crossbow. I think if things made any sense, damage should be capped at 52 or 53 but the code is so complicated that it's hard to read. The main point is nobody can kill a healthy character with one hit.

Best weapon? It really depends on your character. Is he/she strong or skilled?
A strong, expert fighter can do over 50 points of damage with only a scimitar a piece..
There is no point in giving an ankward fighter a steel battle axe. He will do better damage with just bone spear or steel Spatha.

That shouldn't be true...

Bmot is right, it isn't true at all. My novice fighter who is msta can deal around 48% damage with her battle axe. When she was awkward it was a little less than that.
An awkward fighter should definitely steer clear of a crossbow, though. I remember my now dead char being given a crossbow, and dealing 9% damage.

Steel bastard sword have (in my opinion) very good accuracy with a strong power. I like this weapon, if my character have master skill in fight.

Re: Best weapon?
Bmot's first post answers the question fully. topic is already pretty much dead
so then if i am much weaker than average and an awkward fighter......am i screwed?

Accuracy has never been introduced into Cantr. The to-hit odds are the same for all weapons.

Yeah. I hate it when people think it's a sign of being a bad fighter if you miss, or a sign of getting better if you can hit someone or get past their shield. It's just random chance, the same for all. But of course you can't expect everybody to know the mechanics.

Does tiredness increase the miss chance? And heck yeah, you can't. The cantr wiki hardly as any information about the game mechanics.

Nothing affects the miss chance. That and shield bypassing chance are fixed numbers.

That is on purpose. We don't want Cantr to become a number crunching game (more than it already is).

We don't want the current functional Cantrholics to become raging Cantrholics?
