Repeated unsuccessful attempts at unlocking
Ok I know unlocking a door is supposed to be random chance or that there is some unknown(to me at least) chance on whether or not the door will unlock, but 12 times? I've been trying repeatedly over the last couple days my character along with the help of others has been trying to unlock a single door and so far we've had 12 unsuccessful attempts. Can someone please tell me what the calculations for getting a successful attempt are. or if I'm just having really bad luck.

Probably it's just -really- bad luck. I don't know how the percentages are, but every time you try to break a lock, you have the same chance of it succeeding, so it's very possible to have 12 unsuccessful attempts.

Still worth asking. There was already a known bug that affected such attempts... I remember that down time when it was being settled.

It was, but now global success/failure ratio looks correct.
I think you are just extremely unlucky. Keep trying

Breaking locks sucks! I've never had much luck breaking into anything. It's frustrating.

Popped one first try about a week ago.
One before that, a few months ago, took two attempts.
My longest was fifteen attempts, a couple of years ago.

12 is bad, but not as bad as to make me worry about the script... I've had a bit over 20 times, once. I hope you'll get lucky a little earlier than that!

Worst part of it all, when it takes so long to get a lock to break, there is usually nothing behind the door..

Well you can also be lucky and find a house full of diamonds and iron and other good stuff.. Who knows if you don't try
