I think I remember your character's "child", Kelna.

Agh I want to go into a detailed discussion with character names and stuff but thread rules here dictate I can't even though most of those characters are dead now. >:I

Very much agreed.

Lately I've mostly been annoyed about the difference in wound interpretation. For some chars 40% hurt means a broken leg, for others it means bleeding all over the place, for others it means just a scratch or bruise.

People are that way as well... Er's are a good example... stubbed toe comes in right away, tears flowing.. the next comes with hip pain after falling a week ago.. the later ends up with surgery to repair the hip and never sheds a tear.

I know that people aren't required to, or anything, but it still annoys me when I put tons of effort into emoting posts and then someone not even part of the conversation just says something pertaining to it, or asks a question without emoting at all.

It makes me wonder why I'm trying so hard, sometimes. Then I shrug and move on.

Sometimes I do that. Most of the times it happens I've been looking at the thing I wrote, wondering what my char would do, how they would look, thinking how I could possibly add something because it seems so wrong not to emote anything. It annoys me endlessly when I can't come up with anything to type... Then I shrug and hit enter and hope the others don't notice xD
Don't remember where I was - I realized life was a game - The more seriously I took things - The harder the rules became

Hahaha. That excuse makes me feel better about it at least. Thanks for the reply.

I'm a crappy emoter, and I'll always be a crappy emoter. Just the way it is with me.

Names. I love the large variety of names on Cantr. Unique names that would rarely, if at all, be heard of outside the game.

What bugs me is the uncommon names used that have a strong significance in RL, and I feel have no place in the game. I'm not saying anything about the characters, as some have been very well-played, but I feel like the name really takes away from the potential of the character. I have a difficulty taking them seriously. Luckily there have only been a few that have used the origin of their name in actual character development...

The worst offenders:
Loki
Odin
Thor
Kratos
Dante (okay, I realize that it IS an actual name, but I'm just paranoid enough to blame the video game character for the popularity of the name's use in Cantr)

Names are names, and they all have deep roots in RL. I think Thor is as valid a name as Kate. One is just associated with a pagan god, the other not. There are people out there named Thor. I can think of a famous cyclist, for example.

One character gets attacked by a rat for 1% damage, and gets a new scar running half way around their leg with marks where it was surgically stitched up.
The other character gets attacked by wolves, bears and even mammoths, several times a day, being maimed almost to death... And doesn't have a mark on him.

TMI warning:

It irritates me how few characters have pubic hair. It's not like there was proper shaving equipment and I've never seen anyone rp trimming their bush, yet a lot of people describe their characters hairless down there. It makes me think of prepubescent children and that's disturbing.

There are always scissors. Not that it's going to give the silky smooth finish. And, I'm not sure that many people would roleplay trimming their bush in public... But then goodness knows stranger things have happened. Just the same though, if I wasn't so fixed on fade-to-black, it would probably be one of my irritants too.

I can't remember ever doing any RP about pubic hair, really. I never noticed anyone RP'ing their char having or not having it, there just wasn't said anything about it...

My characters are as perfect as I want them to be. They don't burp or fart, so pubes? *shrugs* I don't see people rping cutting their hair either. If the hair on your head doesn't grow, why should the hair down there grow?

My characters have rp'ed cutting their own hair, one has cut someone else's hair and one has gotten a haircut from someone else, although it was a while back.
