Clarification of Forum Rules

Postby freiana » Mon Apr 29, 2013 7:42 am

Some topics have been closed or parts have been deleted because of "disrespect", lately. The rule posted is the following:

Flaming or slandering is not and never will be allowed on these forums. People who can't respect others and discuss in a civilized manner will ultimately get a ban from the forums.

Now, that's a rule I really agree with. However, I would like to have some clarification. IMO the Dead Character Thread did not have flaming or slandering in it (at least when I last checked). Apparently my definition is different from the one used when closing topics and stuff. I respect that, and I do want keep it "civilized" (and obviously I don't want to get banned), so for me it would be great to get some clarification of this rule. Some examples of what's okay and what's not okay would be great.
Don't remember where I was - I realized life was a game - The more seriously I took things - The harder the rules became

I think accusations made of OOC motivations fit under that rule. I personally don't think your posts fell under that rule, but they were probably removed also because 1) they started it all and 2) they wouldn't make any sense in the loss of context.

Just my take on it.

Hi there!
Are you interested in our opinions? Because I'd like to share mine but I'm a little afraid of how it might be interpreted if it is at all at odds with the status quo. And if it is interpreted as negative, the threat of locking, deleting, banning and suspending tends to create an oppressive environment which stifles mine and others' thoughts and opinions.

Just my opinion

Well you are most certainly not alone in that opinion, Black Canyon, I am rather certain Freiana agrees with that too, but it is also very possible we are just too free and liberal and too accustomed to saying well... Basically anything we feel like sharing.

Agreed. I don't post anymore when things became a little "personal" because of that.

Take the easy way @blakcanyon, send me a PM and all remains between you and I.

@henkie My answer it's the same. Send me the PM.

And, almost better say to all of us:
If someone has some question or objection to regret at the forum management. Please, send me a PM.

We're already working on new rules for the forum to avoid this kind of troubles.

Best! :)
