Soap.
Well, we do have towels, combs, toothbrushes and bathtubs. Why not soap? It'd make a good RP item. Can be for RP only or to finally justify that clear Dirtyness bar after handling coal or mud or clay. But yeah RP only sounds fine too!

I don't see why not.
Maybe made out of... soda and beeswax? soda beeswax and some flowers?

Yes, I've wanted this for such a long time! I'm a Lush freak and make my own, too. I have a few that would soooo love this. Yes, yes and just in case I wasn't clear, yes.

Re: Soap.
Raw soap: use recipe of impure biodiesel, but half of time and non-automated project.
Finished soap: the raw soap need be decanted and dried, in a wood made mold. Before the decanting process, you can add a fragrance
fragance: lavender, roses, patchouli oil, eucalyptus oil, orange or lemon juice, prepared tea, mint, etc.

baja del cerro hecho agua,
y en una raíz se queda,
y sube por una camino que se llama enredadera,
parra, parrón, vid, mil hojas, verde sombra o como quieras.

Re: Soap.
I want it too!
According to the Wikipedia, it could be made with soda, either beeswax or meat (Since it needs to react with fatty acids) and salt; that's for the raw soap. Then you add the fragances (The ones already suggested are very nice)

Re: Soap.
Basic soap and scented soap.
Soda + water + fat + pot + heat= soap trace
soap trace + cast mould = soap
soap trace + fragrance + cast mould = soap
Fat --> Meat (hide scraper), coconuts, hemp (seed), olives (mortar and pestle or press)
Heat --> fire pit, camp stove, deck grill (other?)
Fragrance --> Rose, peppermint, patchouli, lavender, camphor, eucalyptus, lemon
We can use the fragrances to make scented candles also.
Fats
Meat + hide scraper --> tallow. Tallow can be used to make soap or candles, and we could make new cooking projects.
coconuts + knife + press --> coconut oil
hemp + millstone --> hemp seed oil
olives + press --> olive oil
The latter three oils could have alternative use in cooking, or could be used to make biodeisal.
So we'd have one kind of unscented soap, and 7 kinds of scented soap.

Re: Soap.
I think the idea of tallow might be a really good one, as it could be very versatile in the game.
Also impure diesel could be a way for it.

Re: Soap.
Ah, soap. I love handmade soap. I used to make it with mom for market shows at Christmas every year.
Quoted for +1, but you should be able to get lye from wood ashes too. And the soap should have to be left to cure quite awhile before it can be used.
...perhaps scented soap could even be used for quicker natural healing? If for whatever reason the process isn't complicated enough to keep that balanced you could always add an extra step of pressing essential oils from the flowers.

Re: Soap.
Pressing oils was implemented and then discarded. It's assumed in the apothecary process, and going back would be a pain in the bum.
The curing process is assumed in the second project. After all, how long does it take to pour the trace into a mould?

I really don't think the whole project should last more than three days, because it's not gonna be used for anything other than RP, IMO.
And another idea, maybe use the already existing oils we have in game, like eucalyptus and such. And soda, for the saponification. (if soap would be really to minimize dirtyness, it'd have to be as realistic as possible, right?)
Oh, and by the way. I found a great site for homemade soap and well, I thought I'd be useful for this.http://www.soap-making-essentials.com/homemade-soap-recipes.html
