with everyone moaning and whining about steel and iron, why not make similar tools in bronze...there's tin, copper....so?
every iron/steel weapon and tool could have a bronze version as well...less effective, but still better than wood and bone

That would be great, or at least OK, if it were true. But it can't be.
In weapons and armor, I don't think there's enough space in the damage range to fit bronze versions in.
In tools, what about tools used in manufacturing projects and machine projects? Those have no 'quality' associated with them.
And what about vehicles? Does the ability to move faster than a walk or with more than 15 kg of stuff remain the preserve of the steel owners, or will we have a bronze bycicle?
And on your whining about whining...I don't care (in principle) how hard it is...But when you suddenly change production by a huge factor (see Netherspawn's calculations) without any way of coping with the resultant imbalance, I have a problem.

make a new island, dont put any iron stuff on it, then, only put tin and copper on it. make it so that when you use a smelting furnance, it makes a new project that requires copper and tin, when finished produce some bronze. a bronze sword does 30 damage around, bronze dagger, 6 damage. bronze shield blocks 20. Bronze trowel, takes twice as long to build buildings. Bronze container. But only on new islands....
At least this offers variety.

I would like to see bronze tools and weapons, although it would need item deterioration being implemented soon...
Sadly, by the time item deterioration comes in effect the Cantrians will probably have light sabers, hover crafts and robots doing their work if some people get their will thru...

Bronze is good.
There is a space in the damage and defense range for bronze. Currently, there's nothing between a hunting bow and a war bow, to my knowledge. Maybe one of those worthless steel weapons. If you had a bronze weapon do between, say, 26 and 31 damage, it would be worhwhile.
I only mind lightsabers because they break with the setting. Otherwise, lightsabers are great. Use that aluminum refiner (and get some diamonds!).
I don't like the whole "New Island" idea. Why can reform only occur in a new land? As long as they don't make bronze overpowered to begin with (yes, steel vehicles are still sacred, at least to my mind), it probably wouldn't even disrupt the social order very much. The item deterioration that needs to come with it, now that's a whole nother matter...
Essentially, they can do bronze now but only for weapons. For tools we need item deterioration.

As there was talks about a reset in Cantr 2.0 perhaps the problem will solve itself...
[by now I have been told that there won't be a reset...how sad]
