Quiet forum?
I only occasionally, when I suddenly really miss Cantr, log in to the forum and post a bit, etc. But I've never actually seen the forum this quiet. IRC is sometimes quiet, the game is sometimes a little quiet, but the forum never really was. But today, all day already my own posts are the most recent ones
... So what happened?

Not sure, but I was thinking the same thing, Jos. Maybe because it's a Friday?

Re: Quiet forum?
Oh, I made one mistake: my posts are not the most recent ones, they are just the most recent in the threads classified as "active"

*Chuckles* I make that mistake all the time. We're all human!

I was assuming he meant when they are displayed as orange instead of green on the board index page.

No, I think he means those you see when you click the 'View active topics' in the upper left corner of the window.

Whoops, you're right, Estaar. *Blushes* Didn't even realise you could do that. Cool!

Glad to have been of help *grins*, but that leaves my question unanswered.

Re: Quiet forum?
What I've noticed is there is simply a lot less actually discussion these days.
There are only a few regularly active threads, and most of them surround self-updates, such as the "I AM" thread and the RIP related threads.
Have we run out of things to talk about?

Re: Quiet forum?
I think the forum is less active than it used to be in general. Some days moreso than others. Especially on the discussion end of things, as Dyl said. The forum games section seems to stay pretty active.

Re: Quiet forum?
It is still surprising, though - while we have had a gradual reduction in the number of players for about 5 years now, it actually seems to have levelled off in the last while, so that is not really the explanation. And development of Cantr seems at a higher level than it has been for years, so that should lead to more discussion as well. I can see how the older players are tired of discussing the same ideas (combat system, for example
...), but newer members? Do new players not join the forum? Should we advertise more interesting forum topics on the site itself? Should we Twitter about them? Should staff come up with interesting Cantr-related topics on purpose?

Re: Quiet forum?
I know for me, I haven't been posting as much because I've been busy with band and college applications and scholarships and school (for that I'm carrying an A average). I haven't been playing Cantr as much either as a result. I've barely enough time to keep M&P updated. The suggestions forums are the last things I read because I'm sick of reading the same suggestions fought over all the time.
I'd elaborate more, but I just ran out of time.
