Best Island?

What would you say is the best island to play on and why?

Pangea. Large, multilingual, still not entirely mapped.

I had one of the most psychologically challenging circumstances on that island (to kill them or not to kill them, turning a horrible situation around and finally parting as allies if not friends), found new and was reunited with old friends from different nations there. Had a certain part of that island thrive after devastating attacks. Travelled through most of it (if I knew anything about map making, between J. K. and my char together with others, would have mapped it by now!), found love, fought, laughed, cried... No other comes close for me.

Teregotha (Shai). Small, intimate, almost a big town rather than 5 separate ones. Life is just hard enough, at least in areas without natural food. I think it is now what K-Isle was back before the Blackrock war.

Not really a place for newspawns, though. I will admit that, but it's just what my established character needs.

I enjoyed Shai A LOT each time I went there. I found it great, but I don't have the luck to have any char there.

To me, now the chars that I'm enjoying most are those of Threefeather.

I'd say Scarab haunts! A very supportive community! Even thought i believe that place is cursed. Criminals seem to like the place as much as "Sleepy-heads"

((off topic, sorry, but it just tickles me when I see the name Scarab Haunt, when I played previously, the animals were still pretty rough, I had a girl, rather new spawn, that went there trying to survive.. it was completely empty..like no one had ever been there. The scarabs were unbelievable in number, so she and the fellow with her, named it Scarab Haunt.. ))

treefeather. Modern and populated for a large part of the island is deserted. Modern roads and tech. stable economy and government. However the larger empty parts but anything you want happen.

Seems to be a good mix of opinions. I think its good that Cantr bascially has an island to cater to whatever anyone wants. (just a pitty you might never get to have a charcter on the one that'd suit you).

It'd be interesting to see which would get the newspawns if you could pick your spawn island.

The best-ness of an island should not depend on your likes, nor suit your personality... the should and MUST depend on your charri! So one may desire Shai, while another despises it!

We've all got to make our chars work within the world they're spawned, Sunni, but that's not what this thread is about. It's very valid to base your preference of island on what you think is best from your range of experiences through your characters. It's player opinion, not character opinion. I think most of my chars would have different answers for this (mostly "where I am"); but that wouldn't mean I can't prefer one island over the others, even if each character is loyal to a different island.

ETA: Though it may be interesting to see where the spawns would fall if players could choose which to spawn on, I think it's best that they can't.

Okay on a more serious note then.

There are no 'better' islands, only personal favorites. The island has certain things available, and you as a player can either like or dislike them, Treefeather for example has wealthy towns and lots of chars, if you like that? Great! If you prefer a more quiet island with things to explore and towns to build from scratch.. I suggest not to go there.

Based on your own preferences islands get a ranking in your mind, personal to you. I can't tell you what the best island is, only which one I favor most.

I think the spawning system being talked about would work greatly. Those players who want a frontier living will spawn on a frontier and it will make it grow. to many people starve their characters simply because they hate the general area they are in. Like I got a character on FU who is teaching a new player how the game works. It sucks for her to be this far out.
