i did notice something odd. the weather in cantr comes as a global event, if there is a rainbow in 1 city there is a rainbow worldwide. not sure if this is the way it was intended or not but thought i would mention it in case it wasnt lol

That's how it was intended or it wouldn't be that way. However, I find it difficult to have all my characters respond to the same event at the same time....it gets a little old. I'm hoping that these randomly generated weather messages will become just that....random. Rainbow and rain here, thunder there, maybe fog somewhere else. Random timing and location, that would be more realistic, easier and more fun to roleplay.

These events are just a teaser for the weather system that will be implemented soon. The finished system will work with trends, moving high/low pressure zones etc.

The Cantr world is simply a grid of X's and Y's. You just have to get your sin() and cos() etc correct, and it'll be great. :)

Sine, cosine, tangent, cotangent, secant, cosecant, blah, blah, blah. These are the words that almost made me fail Trig last year.

*proceeds to stab EchoMan and NostalgicMelody7 while a plastic spoon for mentioning those mathematical functions*

So...are the leaky roofs gonna be repaired before weather goes into effect?

More trigonometrical than mathematical. I realize that correction probably didn't help your mood? :)

About leaky foofs: IRL I can always tell if it rains outside or not, and my roof is perfectly sound.

That's weird - my walls are completely soundproof ;)

Maybe a special message could be indoors, like "You can /hear/ rain falling" or something.

Trig is a mathematical discipline, while cos() and sin() are functions. I am a lazy American so I decided to just condense it to mathematical functions.

Mood is fine actually, just kind of on edge waiting to hear how badly I might have screwed up at having to do all those calculations by hand without the assistance of a calculator.

Me too, but the way it is written into the game, there is some ambiguity as to the interpretation. I had some characters (those inside) play it off as either hearing the 'few drops of rain begin to fall lightly' or had them take it as a sign of a leaky roof.

I love not having to deal with the pop-up asking to "resend" when I refresh the char list screen now. :) Being able to drive a vehicle onto a road without stopping work is nice, too.
