If there is food in his inventory, he will eat it automatically on a daily basis. If the account is left unchecked for a (month? 40 days?), I think all the characters have a heart attack, unless vacation mode is on.

The character will only eat as much as he needs each day, so if you have the math right, he shouldn't 'run out' of it.

EDIT: He won't eat food that's in a container in his inventory, such as a grass basket or duffel.

Heart attacks happen if the account idles out, which occurs when the account itself hasn't been logged into for 20 days.

Thankyou, Cdls. That's what I was guessing at with my month to fourty day comment.

Ok. So I think I found a bug. Today, a char died after eating turn from starvation. From his inventory felt food (my char gave him this food couple days earlier). It wasn't visible at the people tab that he is starving.

Do you still eat automatically if your stomach is full, say with healing food? Is that a possibility? I'm not sure the order of purging, automated eating, etc. for the eating tick.

Well I think that would come down to how many grams he needed to eat of the food he had, versus how many grams were going down in his stomach.

It's not too much fun trying to eat 200 grams of potatoes while trying to digest a few grams of scrambled eggs..

But then Wadko just said there was no indication of the character being in the starving state.

It sounds worth investigating. If the character wasn't looking hungry, someone should check his events for if he was going hungry or eating something before he died.

The person was going hungry each day. Their hunger is at maximum. They weren't eating anything. When they died, they dropped 14905 grams of sand, 37 grams of raw meat, 21 grams of feathers, 32 grams of small bones and 5 grams of raw eggs. They had nothing edible in their inventory and there wouldn't have been room for food with all the sand in there. If there was food on the ground, it must've come from someone else.
