Are you sure you meant her? That's almost exactly what my Aki island char is carrying... or maybe he has another hunting bow...

Imagine walking into a town and seeing this giant tortoise-like thing. But instead of a tortoise, its many shields surrounding one person...
Speaking of which, does having more than one shield decrease the chances of having 'your shield was inneffective against the blow' or of getting hit?

I hardly should think so, and it really shouldn't, I mean, because seriously, you can't IRL really equip more than one shield at a time if you look at the physics of it.

A basic outfit of crowbar, crossbow, iron shield would probably do more for intimidation.

Once resources are visible (Anthony said they will be) add a few kg of papyas to that. Apparantly they're a really dense healing food...

Crowbar, Crossbow, and Iron Shield only goes far against a single well-equiped opponent or a mob of peasants. Two people with sabres and iron shields could take you down (I think...)

Maybe you could use two shields, theoretically, but it wouldn't be very practical. 3, if you wear one on your back...
But it isn't very practical, and I'm pretty sure only your single best shield has any effect in cantr.

Duh, more than one persons with sabres are much more intimidating than just one. But there's easy ways to evade it, like if the Sabre holders aren't online. :D

In cantr you use one shield to defend against one attack, unless Industriallist, you're just clarifying what I just said?

The point was that a crossbow is (or was) an uncommon weapon because of its costing more than twice as much as a sabre. So its intimidation value is somewhat disproportionate to its real power, which is only slightly better than a sabre.
2 sabre vs. 1 sabre = duh....
2 sabre vs. 1 crossbow, with iron shields all around... I think the sabres win. But it isn't trivial.

Yes, I was just agreeing at greater length about the shields.

Understood :)

The sabre seems to be less effective in actual damage given during my recent usages...and now 3/4 of those level characters now depend on crossbows. Also  my characters are not always privelaged to utilize the new tools necessary to make a sabre nowadays.

Resources will be added too to the list? This isn't being overdone? May I suggest "bags" and "sacks" and "bottles" to put resources in so they aren't revealed?

To hide resources, it would already be possible. Just need to add larger carrying containers.

For objects to be hidden, programming would need to be done in order to deposit objects into a container. Once that happens, then it will be possible to hide your weapons and such.

However, as a reprocussion, I would reccommend (I'm not saying it will be agreed upon) that these bags be visible.

And, Industriallist, apology accepted :P

I don't remember saying resources would be visible, I suppose amounts of over 1k - 2k could be displayed as "A visible amount of X material" and larger amounts could use other adjectives, but I don't really see the necessity for that.

Ahh, I see, you misread my post. I did not mean that in game resources would be added, I said that the Resources Department would be adding the tags to the objects we deemed should be visible. Sorry for the confusion.
