Well, all I know is before I tamed the otter there were 7 tamable creatures.. and soon as I had it tamed there were no more hearts on anything.

It might be a limit tied to age or something then. My character was in his late twenties when taming was added.

From further reading through the thread, it's good to see the Amrassi are still alive. Mine was one.

Since a child inherits traits from both parents if they are of different race.. I wonder what would happen if two mixed-parentage people, of all different races (so 4 different races in the mix) were to have a child..? Or two all-different quarter-lings, to mix 8 races?

How do you start a new mine? Can there be more than one in the same location?

Does it have to be copper? I made a malachite pick. I might need a shovel too though, haven't made one of those yet...

Mostly I was just wondering where to look for the option to dig a mine... I was predicting it would come under structures. I wasn't sure if its underground house though, or something else.

In particular I wondered if a given location is limited to only one mine though.. if thats the case then I expect the option won't show at all, since there is an old mine here already. I wanted to dig my own though, from the beginning.

Wandered around in the existing mine yesterday. Its very interesting to me. I even foraged in magma and collected a lump of molten rock, though I'm not really sure how exactly. But setting that aside, is there any use for molten rock? Until now I was thinking there were no resouces you could gather that had no use...

I forget if it was molten rock or lava we used to make a lava oven. My character walked for several weeks (RL) carrying 25 pieces of whichever it was, however that's possible.

Yay.. second character about to be born... the suspense is killing me Hoping for a kitty or mer! Though there's a bunch of other races that would be fun too. I just don't want plain ol human *giggle*

Are all creatures in mines aggressive? or only some?

In the mine I'm in, the chamber ahead of me is full of giant cave bats... if they don't attack then I can go through, but there were like 8 bats, so I wasn't going to chance it without asking...

My character was never attacked at all inside a mine, but then he wasn't in it for more than a few days. Then again, I don't remember ever seeing someone get attacked other than as a result of taming or hunting, despite the whole family staying outside for years among dangerous animals, so maybe we were just very lucky?

That's just my experience though, which is quite limited. In general, I have no idea.
