It's that hot here for most of the summer too, or at least it was this summer, so I guess that could be why. :? Of course, being raised myself in PA for the first twelve years of my life, I -am- loving it here right now! So nice to be able to breathe when I go outside! I was actually able to take a walk the other day.

That made me think of Steven Colbert drawing a bunch of circles on a picture of Anderson Cooper. Am I the only one?

Woo - received a speeding fine y'day. 3 points on my licence for 4 years and a fixed penalty. Nice. Had to happen sooner or later, I -had- broken out of that terrible habit but it somehow crept back... Well, that teaches me, and those of you who know what I do for a living will appreciate the irony.
On a different note, I am sick of feeling so poorly lately, but did enjoy the first ever sick (half a) day off from work in my work life, trying to sleep off the earache and nausea. My back injury isn't helping much but I will get there. I am off tomorrow as P is having an op so we'll have a resting weekend - yay for snuggles, snacks, films and books in bed! :)

I need prayers from those who do, please.

For Carmel and Ray, to find peace. For Cameron, their eldest son who just died (heart attack, age 40). For Mark, the younger son, who is very ill in hospital. This couple are my dear friends and I need prayers to be able to be there for them. Thankyou.

PS Please be patient with my characters over the next week as I will be not playing as much, as I also haven't in the last few days.

Husband bought a bunch of Girl Scout cookies because of the movement to boycott them. :)

My daughters a girl scout, but we don't start selling until the 29th. Her goal this year is 1200 boxes. Eek.

Probably something to do with the rumor that the girl scouts were pushing birth control

I understand the boycott was because they allowed a transgendered 7 year old in. In which case, bravo to your husband for fighting the boycott.

I wish I could fight the boycott, but being diabetic - probably not a good idea. When they start selling tasty wheat bread, I'll be right there on the front lines to support them! :)

Why does someone post in a locked thread and ask questions when no-one can answer?

You can still buy them for people that can eat them. They do care cookies, which are mailed to our troops, or go to support homeless shelters and other non profits. That's what my uncle does since he wants to help my daughter out, but can't eat the cookies with his diabetes.

This is true, but then I have to watch people eat them. Unless I give them to co-workers with the explicit instructions to take them home immediately, lol.

Or unless you do the care thing, you can just give the girls the money, and they put it in the order for the organization or troops. Plus it's tax deductible.

That's a good idea... I can't believe I didn't think of that. lol

It's not like they're going to turn down my money if I don't walk away with some of their (incredible) cookies!
