Drive safely. There are 4 people close to me who each had a car accident (all nearly or completely totalled) just in the past two weeks.

It's -20C here today (-4F) and -30C (-22F) or so with the wind chill (what it actually feels like on your skin). I spent most of the day outside icing our rink despite the fact that I should have been in bed trying to get rid of the terrible cold I've had for the last week.

I feel like I'm being robbed of my winter. It's 82 today.

I'd love to be there right now.

My mom just told me it's supposed to dip into the 20's here tonight.
I sincerely hope she means twenty-something degrees Celsius, not Fahrenheit.

It's actually starting to get nice here. It's 43F right now and isn't supposed to get above 71F for the next few days.

The only negative to the lower temperatures is that we need to turn the heater on at night for the kitty's sake, but there's really no happy medium that won't leave us melting and so the husband puts even more effort into forcing me out of bed each night.

It got warm (4~8C, I don't know Farenheit anymore, sorry) here ever since December rolled around, but I'm reaaally hoping for some proper cold weather (and snow!). So sick of this endless rain. :(

Happy things:

- I got my US visa today! Means I can visit my mother after graduation this year :)

- Watched the new Sherlock (BBC), which was excellent. Most excellent.

Started school today. I'm struggling with the fact that I work full time, have 4 kids, and feel like I'm 'too old' to start college. I already have a job that could be considered a pretty nice career, but it's not what I want to do with my life. I was frustrated almost immediately by my first class, but I have my first two homework assignments in and will finish the third tomorrow. If everything stays on task, I should be able to do homework on Tuesdays and Wednesdays after work, and still have time for everything else in my life. Including, the ever important green screen. :D

so its just as cold today and i figured out what i really hate about the cold weather. i hate walking to work in it. i hate the house being cold and struggling to fall asleep because my family insists on saving money by turning the heat off at night....but what i cant stand more than any of that:

cold showers. omygoodness!!!! the water takes forever to get hot, and when it finally does, its only hot for about 5 minutes! (no exaggeration)
so im left with the option to shave my legs in freezing cold water, in the dry air, or not at all.

agggh! (and then, because i do insist on using that five minutes to wash my hair so i can be presentable at work, i get yelled at by the rest of my family living with me because there's no hot water left...:/)

I'm comfortable too...but I think I'm going through a midlife something because I suddenly feel the need to improve or do things that I normally wouldn't. Like skydive. Anyone want to go with me?

Not that specific incident! How horrible! Here's the plan then....we get a bunch of Cantr players to go with us....we jump wearing bright green jumpsuits....and form a smilie as we come down to advertise Cantr. What do you think? Lol

Thought:
You know your mom is having a good day when she walks up to you at 19:00 with the keys and says, "Let's go drive in the dark," when normally she would look for any excuse not to terrorize her nerves by teenage driving.

Rant:
And then when you get home, you watch the obligatory depressing teen driving video for insurance discounts, and Mom never wants you on the road ever again.

Heh. I think to some degree all parents are like that. I know I nearly gave my mother a heart attack when I first started driving (and then confused the brake and gas pedals). They'll grow to panic less as you drive more. :p
