Yes, you see, Snickie, in Spanish-speaking countries, the emergency services (fire, ambulance, etc.) have to work on the 25th, of course. But since those countries are 99% Catholic, everyone wants off for the day. So those service people celebrate on the 26th, and they call it... Police Navidad! *ducks the incoming bric-a-brac*

edit: I guess I should clarify. It's Arkansas, so all the rednecks who live outside of city limits like to fire off their guns while blowing crap up when the new year starts...I really don't live in that dangerous of a town. Well...as long as I keep inside city limits. *shrugs* At least I can rest knowing that my town won't be invaded anytime soon.

Gunshots? Glad I'm way down here then. We had nice fireworks and saw then from a little way off at friends. Sipping cold drinks on the balcony around the pool. It was quiet and relaxing.

We have plenty of frogs too. Loud ones. My favorite is the Motorbike frog. Guess what it sounds like?

You have better luck at crocheting than I do, Mell? I have such a hard time getting the loop through the other loop without the first loop coming off the little hook. Ah well, practice makes perfect, or in the case competency, so maybe one day I'll get the hang of it.

My mom and I just spent five hours tearing apart my room and cleaning every square inch. It's so clean now that it even smells clean. It's very creepy. It's been at least a year and a half since my room last looked like that.

After that, my mom turned on TLC to the program that talks about hoarders. >:|
