Considering that Cantr itself is a game, what motivation is there for characters to play a game within Cantr?
Not to mention the impracticalities of not having everyone online at the same time.
If games were implemented into Cantr it would represent the height of Cantr as a twisted alternative to a real life.

Seriously, though, why not a ball? Then at least Cantrians would know what one was. We have so few round things, it makes it difficult to write certain similes in my prose. (Thank goodness for the useless broom!)
Okay, so it sounds like I'm not serious, but I really am. I want as many useless items built into Cantr to enhance our rp abilities. Build a ball, they will play, even if it's all just rp. *bounces the ball off Solfius' head*

I imagine tag like games could be made with a game object, perhaps a ball.
You have to take the ball from one place to another, if you are slapped you have to drop it. The various time zones and when players are active would make this interesting as a player will drop the object when they seee they've been slapped, which may be a few hours after the slapping player has logged off, so another character could run off with it.
So a ball object would be fine,
and as for Cantr and it's twisted alternative to real living, right now it's somewhere below the peak of its being

Clothes are everywhere and they're quite 'useless' in the practical sense.
Where I am, the reason that bus routes are not improved is because there isn't demand for them, since there's no-one waiting at the bus stop, since there is no busses.
Characters in Cantr tend to be practical since they can't be much else! Becoming a broom salesman would be silly, but becoming a merchant selling assorted useless trinkets might just work.

I thought about adding a ball, or several balls to the build menu. That would at least let people have something to toss about, a new twist on the old "hot potato" games that have been played in Cantr for years.
If that is good enough, we could move this to Accepted Suggestions.

one ball would suffice, several would be too many.
Why would we need a specific object, like a ball, for Cantr anyway?
Unless there is a game project then a ball would be for roleplay only (a reason for only having a single generic ball entry, as there is nothing to be gained in roleplay by having different kinds of balls that can't be gained by a single generic entry)
The only reason I can see for having a ball, which would be a useless object, is because of the connotations for balls, such as bouncy and for playing games with.

Exactly the point! See how you talked yourself into liking this suggestion? I knew we'd get you on board.

A couple of different balls might be nice........one made of leather, one of rubber? One would be bouncy, one would be more like a medicine ball perhaps. If we only had one, rubber would obviously be the best choice.

Re: PLAY BALL!!!
Could we please just have a ball in Cantr? Things have been really quiet for a lot of my characters and a ball would make for some easy, fun RP.

With a button to kick it which would have a random chance to fell into random open building.

Haha...that's be amazing. But seriously. I'd settle for a something that I could pass around to other characters in the same location. Other uses could possibly be added later since they'd take longer to program.

Re: PLAY BALL!!!
Sounds so funny! One of my chars used to play with a crumpled note as if it were a paper ball, passing and throwing it as if a paper plane or something. A real ball, something you can bounce, would be great.
I love the idea of introducting some "gaming in game" just for RP purpose; in fact, I was thinking about making something like a set of playing cards with one of my traveller chars, something simple like "in this card there's a picture of a red tail hawk", "in this card there's the picture of a fox", and stuff like that. I know it sounds like a lame game, but I guess 7 stud poker it's too OOC
