Overeating Sickness
Would someone please update the Wiki article on sickness to explain what causes overeating sickness? I would like to see a complete list of every cause. Thanks.

Re: Overeating Sickness
I believe the sicknesses were supposed to be "find out in-game."

Re: Overeating Sickness
Find out or make stuff up? I've seen plenty of explanations and "cures" for it.
It makes for an interesting experience, but it is sometimes difficult to keep up with the different interpretations.
Just like different places have different explanations for "sleeping sickness" or the sudden heart-attacks.

Why is this one thing "find out in-game"? Every other game mechanic is explained in the Wiki. People even know the existence of materials they have never seen based on manufacturing requirements. People know how to do things that they have never seen done. Even if the overeating sickness were explained in the Wiki, some people would still get it because they are careless.

There are other things that are find out in-game, such as maps and location details. Jos stipulated that diseases are find out in-game, and Jos's word is law.

I think more could be 'find out in game' too, but that's another thread.
I like the way sickness works, and all the different tales people tell abut it, and th assumed causes seem to have merit, at least on a common sense basis... like hanging around with dead bodies, and carrying animal crap... and such like.
Game mechanics are far too easy to use instead of role play, and sickness is a gift for your average role player.
As a player, I just sometimes let my chars work on the principle that in the middle of every town, there must be some kind of immovable manual, which contains instructions for even the most complicated thing to make...
