Re: Population Boom?
About 70 players and 100 characters idled out today after a fix to the cleanup script.
Almost all players were ones with 0-2 characters.

Re: Population Boom?
Day 3435: 909 Players, 4711 Characters
But despite of that, there's been an improvement over the last 40 days (compare to the first post).

After several months in which the number of players was descending, I looked the evolution since the 4th of November and you can not discouraged now because we have gone up.
I show you the data:
4th November:
Number of players: 876
16th November:
Number of players: 909
33 new players is not a bad number
and we are working for bring more of them. So.. come on! I don't want sad faces!

Re: Population Boom?
Since February, 2010 (which is the not so long ago date when I started playing) I have brought only one player to the game. They still play though.
It's shameful amount, I know, but hey... something like a 'curious phenomenon'
Given the amount of time it takes from me, am not sure I could live with inflicting it on many people I know.

I've brought one person to the game.
I have no idea whether or not he still plays. I don't talk to him anymore because he's a creeper.

Re: Population Boom?
I actually never brought someone into Cantr, however I have enough times got people in wanting to keep playing cantr and new players addicted to cantr lol so that's something that counts as well right?

It's too bad that a bug is responsible for most, if not all, of the higher numbers. I thought it might be too good to be true.
Anyway, I hope we can get feedback about how well the voting links work. My initial impression was that most people visiting those sites were promoting their own games, not looking for new ones to play. There are some differences in site quality, so maybe some of the better games directories will yield more attention from potential recruits.

I used to scan sites, looking for new games.

I can't tell you how well those links work, but at least that they work.
And I'm convinced the more votes we get, the better it works.
