Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Rant: AC quit working at around 2:30 this morning, so I stumbled out of bed to turn it off since we figured it probably froze. After about three hours, we tried turning it on and got nothing, so it went off again until 9:30. Still nothing after half an hour, so he called the office and was informed that we have the most idiotic AC and it gets reprogrammed when turned off and will take three to six hours to start blowing cool air again. I think I'm going to go molest the freezer and hope I don't pass out because this is Texas and I absolutely cannot handle the heat. I'd go invade my mother's place, but they both smoke and that would probably be worse.

I'll have to take a pic of the ducks here. I got one for each of my coworkers for Christmas a couple years ago. We got to use the glow-in-the-dark duck about an hour ago when the power went out. Neat to see someone else with a duck collection!

Indeed it is SumBum!
Now you must post the pics. My zombie duck glows in the dark too, actually. Like it needed any help being my fave.

One time when we had a storm here, a branch fell off a tree and hit the pipe that pumps the cooling chemical to our A/C. So the fan was blowing, but it was blowing warm air instead of cold air. By the time we called and got somebody to come look at it, around two gallons of the stuff had leaked into our yard, and it was around 86ºF in the house (I believe it was last summer this happened, and Florida heat plus humidity....yeah, not fun).
So....how many people here play from Texas?

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Air, air! It's still disgustingly hot in here and I'm starting to get a headache from the heat, but the stupid thing is working and it's slowly cooling down. I think a capacitor blew or something; we couldn't understand the maintenance guy that stopped by very well. I would like to never spend an extended length of time in a building where it's over 100 degrees again. I probably shouldn't have turned Jimmy on, but I need something to focus on and I think I'm too shaky to keep hold of a book or my Kindle. Hopefully, it'll cool down enough for me to be able to eat breakfast before my mother takes me shopping. It'd be rather inconvenient if I collapsed in the middle of HEB.
Snick, that sounds awful. We've had the fan blowing warm air at us all day too.

Well, after about a year of no a/c, and some 100+ days here, the a/c is finally installed and working. It was actually a fun family activity to periodically watch the digital thermometer upstairs slowly making its way down from 90+°F down to 72. Ahhhh!

I'm going to change all of my clocks to somewhere between 15 and 30 minutes fast.

That's what we call [my mother's maiden name] time, Snickie. My grandma used to set her clocks like 30 min fast. My mom cut back a little on that and ours were always 15 min fast (guess Dad lost that fight). Some of my clocks are 10 min fast, others are 20.

I am on day 2 of a 3 day cleanse. I lost 5 lbs just by drinking these super healthy shakes and eating veggies. Of course, I am ravenous since my body is used to a lot more than 3 shakes, veggies and salad for dinner (with meat on it). I really want a snack. Hmm...my right arm looks fairly tasty right now.

Two weeks from now, you'll be 2lbs heavier than when you started. Just watch.

Not if I eat healthy after i'm done! And that's the goal/point! This is just jump starting my healthy eating, and it's actually not a bad for you kind of cleanse.
