I would have, he felt somewhat similar to Marco.

Course, my char would have a hard time feeling bad for some in that town, but he certainly wasn't one of them...

Holy bananas, you played Arenti? :P

I guess the fact that you are hard to spot in game means a lot in itself, so this, and you will be missed.
I'm curious to see who you played.

.....I should either stop going to band camp (because every time I do people I like IG die) or save myself a lot of future grief and unsub from Cantr.

My character is going to be so devastated when she finds out....

Sorry to see you go, Arenti.

Not to hijack the thread and I'll try to keep the specifics out because of the 4-day rule etc, but I do feel it was poor form of the player to speak that way over the radio. Bad enough if you subject a small area of people to things they may or may not want to hear (not to mention the issue of minors) but you have no idea how many could be listening via the radio network. You can be a crass tough guy without going into all that. Really makes me want to dismiss any true RP potential and write them off as a troll. Jumping straight to shock value attention is very uncreative.

Feel free to use this thread for that. As that char who did that also sounds like a crb seeing what I heard. A new spawn wanting to revive that group? But I just had enough of being confronted with rape all the time in cantr. It's already bad enough it's on the news every day.

But It has to do with many more things but that is however the main reason why I haven't been enjoying cantr for a long time. .I kept playing not to make people sad. Cantr in itself is a great game and always will be. I'm just worried that some players who only play a certain way is ruining it for everyone else

Man Arenti... :( Going to you being around and your characters to. I can understand why, but...it'll still be hard. Especially when someone finds out that I know knows yours. Sigh. Good luck.

I guess I'm really lucky that I never met this "serial-rapist" in game. The closer any of my chars got to such a thing was living in the same town of Ila... And I don't even know if she has something to do with this situation (because I don't know if the char that raped Ila belongs to this player everybody is talking about)...

I think we just all need to buck up, and agree that even our most pacifistic characters will at least look the other way when those type are just run up to the gallows and done away with, rolled into a shallow grave, and never spoken of again. Ignoring it won't make it go away, they will never run out of either willing or unsuspecting victims. Instead, it'll just keep chipping away at the souls of us that still want this game to be about something better than that until we lose more and more of them.

I feel the pang of desire to cash my chips in too, because it interferes with my chars in ways that I can't simply ignore, and has pulled away other's chars that have otherwise been a good source of RP.

What do you mean didn't meet him? I know one of yours did, just not like -that-. And really, that's not just a rape thing, is a well-covered attempt to turn cantr into his own private sex chat. And I've got to give him credit, he's reasonably good at not showing the cards until you're caught in the middle of it, or else I'm just not very bright. Course, now that I've been through the ringer, I tend to see his chars coming a mile away.

Well, 100% of my actual chars would kill or lock a rapist for life, even the bad ones...

I mean, I'm a pretty openminded individual, and it takes a heck of a lot to unsettle me. I don't think rape should be a part of cantr unless the aggressor gets consent from the other party BEFORE going into it AT ALL. Why risk traumatizing someone that might have already lived through it in real life? I've never caught wind of a rape scene in cantr without seriously questioning the motives behind the aggressors player.

And sometimes I wonder if the player thinks he isn't just a troll. Look, when you're doing it this much, it isn't because you like messing with people no matter what you tell yourself. You have an obsession.

If you never met his chars in game you indeed are lucky as almost all my chars did. And also two of my chars have read notes from him about his rape adventures in game. And he really is the main problem. Get him banned and it would already be much more peaceful though there are others who play several rapists but he really is the main problem.

The problem is with killing those chars, is that the players just spawn new ones and keep going. One of my chars had been involved in the killing of 4 rapist chars of the same player. I also noticed the player is playing way more sneaky about it, first just seeming to be normal and working hard and working to get keys to buildings and vehicles etc.

Well one of the dead giveaways is he starts pouring absurd amounts of flattery on the most "awake" female he finds, then just starts working his way down the chain until he finds one that buys it. Like, you met me five minutes ago and you really think I'm the love of your life? Like even moreso than the stereotype of other chars falling in love. Hallmark-bs style love notes, all that garbage.

When he quits doing THAT, yes, he's going to be an incredibly tough to pick out, because otherwise he does seem perfectly normal. Making goals, working for things, all the normal stuff. He's even good with naming his chars and providing them descriptions. He clearly COULD be a half-decent role player if he actually went to a psychologist and got himself straightened out a little.

Yes but unfortunately I couldn't kill his chars just because of giving attention to women. His chars are easy to pick out most of the time, but it also made me very paranoid in game.

If my chars could get away with it, I probably would. He's not playing the game, so why should I? Better to "erase" the problem, then get back to playing like normal.

But yes, there probably is no good solution, so I've just made myself content to keep myself away from his chars as best I can. When mine spot his chars, they just rub mine the wrong way and want nothing to do with him. It's far from ideal, but it works better than any other option I seem to have.
