Much like the royal wedding, I don't see why this matters, at all....
I just don't get people. I'm going to bed.

Some people might actually be interested, no need to be an ass.

Made me think of this straight away: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjwoVTOUPuk
"Hey ho, Osama's not coming back."
Good news.

Good if it's true, but his mission will continue unfortunately. In this case, the head of the snake isn't enough....

^ Absolutely, but at least it is a good start.

Glad to see that they finally got them! Been enjoying this news since we first heard of it!
People are going crazy in front of the White House and at Ground Zero! Historic day for the US that we were able to finally find and kill this Terrorist.

Right.
This news, while heartening, is certainly not the end of the matter. Israel's been picking off heads of terrorist organizations for decades, and new leaders just take their place. Contrast this to the death of Hitler, 66 years ago this week. There, Berlin was surrounded, there basically was no more Germany. It was completely occupied. Then and only then could the death of leader mean the death of the organization. True, they still appointed another Fuhrer, Dönitz, but his job was simply to surrender to the allied forces.
This is NOT the case here. The war will go on.
Maybe the best we can hope for is internecine fighting on who will inherit the leadership and the millions of dollars that goes with it (remember, bin-Laden was extremely wealthy), and that will tie up things for a long while.
Yes, let's get probate lawyers involved! They can grind everything to a halt!

Well done, you're celebrating because someone - probably a scapegoat, painted as an enemy by your government to buy your political allegiance - has died.

He claimed responsibility, so if anyone painted him as an enemy, it was himself.

Re: Osama Bin Laden pwned!
Ack, joo.
And isn't a bit exaggerated to compare Bin Laden to Hitler? They did not only differ because of their organisational structures, but from maybe everything except their hate for certain groups of people. I even could imagine that if Hitler didn't kill himself, the Allies would have him caught alive to trial him, without breaking international law, like the U.S. did in the case Bin Laden. But of course, the oh-so-great U.S.A. won't have to care about rules that apply to everyone else in the world anymore. And at least, it's really good for their internal politics.
