Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
I woke up in tons of pain. My back and legs ache.. and my head is pounding. I go to grab some advil to find that........ Allen used the last of my advil.. I can't find his motrin so I have to suffer until he comes home for lunch from work..
On a different note, He wants to work things out. Go figure.. it only took him injuring his back and being at home constantly for the past month.. He's still hurting because he is working... but has to work to make money to pay the bills.
Computer is still dead which completely sucks!
Oh but I have managed to get approved for a total of 3 hours of overtime this week.. Have to understand the excitement on that though.. it is very hard to be approved for overtime!

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Is it a good thing to make the adjudicator cry?
'Cause this morning, I did.
My clarinet judge today was the clarinet professor at a university in DeLand, and I've had dealings with her before from years past in going to instrument camps there the past three summers.
I played my piece from memory, and almost as soon as I was done she got up, almost in tears, and came around and hugged me because I had grown so much both physically and musically since the last time she'd seen me (last summer, she was taking pictures at the Saxophone workshop, which I was attending). She had no verbal criticism for me, told me I had a beautiful tone and was doing everything I needed to be doing.
I have never seen that reaction out of a judge, not in the five years I've been in bandd and the three I've done solos for judges.
Superior with distinction? I think so.
My sax solo, on the other hand.
I honestly don't know what to make of my score in relationship to how I think I played it. I'm not that good a self-judge while I'm playing, but if I hear a recording of myself or something I'm better able to be critical of myself.
Not to mention the guy gave maybe five superiors for the entire weekend.
He had lots of constructive criticism for me (rightly so, I was naughty for not having researched the piece and history, and there were some things I could've done better), as he did for every performer before and after me. But it was difficult to tell whether or not he liked the performance or not based on the comments made and the tone of his voice. After seeing pretty much straight Excellents under his name, though, we were able to guess he was going to give me an Excellent.....which he did.
So I don't think I'll truly know how I did there until I get the sheets back with the written comments.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
I had a bad dream last night, but it's really stupid. I dreamt that the player who players Jasmine of Baaak-and quite a few other good characters near mine as well- quit the game on us. Everyone was sad, especially me. I was like noooo! I don't even know the player, and don't really care all that much if chars die, but I had read something one of the characters said right before I fell asleep so it probably came from that.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Speaking of dreams, I had a really weird one.
I had a dream that some middle eastern country was attacking the city that I live in. It was a giant warzone but everyone was just doing their daily routines. People weren't running around or panicking. My family was swimming around in a pool. We ended up getting captured as prisoners of war, but we just ate cookies and drank tea with them outside of a half exploded cafe while the war was still going on. After we were rescued i grabbed a sharped oar (like from a boat) and wielded it as a weapon for part of the local rebellion.
