I say the e-mails should still be received.
What if your character was killed, unfairly, based on a CR breach by another player? You'd need the e-mail to show proof of the events that happened, since the turn report won't give it to you (I don't think).
I agree, names should be offered, so you know who it is that did something. But the ID should also be placed with them, in case the report -is- needed for the Players Department, so much simplier to know the ID than to find the name and such (I think. I'm not PD >.>)
But I do understand why you people think it's useless. You get a message in game showing that your character died, and they mysteriously dissapeared from the character list (Oh my god! Where did my character go?!) - But, in my own opinion, you should still get it.
If you don't like it, add a filter that deletes it automatically from your e-mails. Simple.
