1. 13

2. 7-10

3. Same as Snake_byte. I have characters who I rp more with than others. Different goals in their lives, as well.

4. Around late 20 and late 30.

5. I don't replace them, nor create several new ones in a short period of time. They choose when they want to be spawned. Like a boiling idea on my head, until they spawn.

Okay so here goes..

1. How many characters do you currently have?

2. Roughly how many characters do you consider to be the optimum number?

3. Does having more characters mean less RP attention is given to each one?

4. What is your 'character age spread' between young, middle aged, old and very old etc?

5. Do you replace a character that dies with a newspawn or wait until you are left with a few characters then create several within a short time?

As far as my characters go, I have 4, one died soon after I started playing (was killed) and was replaced to maintain my preference for 4 characters. For me having more characters means I would have less time for each one. My character age spread is all middle aged, I've not been playing long enough to have old or very old characters.
After having been playing for a while now I would still replace a character that dies with a newspawn to maintain my total of 4 characters.

Something that has occurred to me, will I likely end up with all very old characters, or statistically do very few very old characters survive that long?

1 - I have all 15! (As of a few days ago)
2 - Tough call on optimum. If I had 4 characters who were always active and thus fun, that would be perfect for me. 15 seems to be working out though, because I have several in pretty "dead" locations.
3 - Not really, because only 4 or 5 of my chars are in "busy" places with lots of action. I give these more attention because they demand it, but it doesn't cut back my other chars in a negative way. They're either alone or in quiet places, so it doesn't matter much.
4 - Because of a bit of a hiatus, and massacres....I have my oldest in her seventies, one in her fifties, two in their forties, and the remainder are relatively new chars all in their twenties (oldest 28, all the way down to 20)
And all that is now
And all that is gone
And all that's to come
And everything under the sun is in tune
But the sun is eclipsed by the moon.

1. 7
2. As many as you can handle, for me at the moment about 3.
3. For me yes, Less memory capacity and time to give each one to grow or become unique enough to be memorable.
4.Late 21-approaching 23.
5. Previously I generated batches of newspawn on whim, as I got to know the charters I had. At the moment I over reached to take a look at the world.

1. 13

2. It depends on where your characters are, and what you wish to do with their lives. For me, I would say between 6 and 9.

3. At the moment, I'm able to devote equal time to nearly all my characters, but sometimes it can get tricky.

4. They are all in their twenties. Oldest 28, youngest 20.

5. I tend to wait a while before creating a new character. As of now, I wouldn't spawn a new character if one died, as I honestly think I would find the loss of nearly any of my characters to be difficult somewhat.

1. How many characters do you currently have? 4... I've done the 15 before- for a long, long time- but it can become really terrible if you start feeling burnt out.

2. Roughly how many characters do you consider to be the optimum number? 2-5

3. Does having more characters mean less RP attention is given to each one? It can... depending on how much time you have to give to the game. When you are very busy with RL, it definitely impairs the attention given to each character. But if you have all the time in the world, it may not affect it.

4. What is your 'character age spread' between young, middle aged, old and very old etc? From 20 to 120.

5. Do you replace a character that dies with a newspawn or wait until you are left with a few characters then create several within a short time? I only create characters when I have an idea and inclination to follow through with the idea. And once in a while if I'm bored. But I really need some sort of inspiration to create one nowadays.

An updated version from myself:

1. How many characters do you currently have?
Eleven.

2. Roughly how many characters do you consider to be the optimum number?
During the summer, however many you want. During the school year, around eight, especially when half of them are inactive.

3. Does having more characters mean less RP attention is given to each one?
Somewhat, yes. I have ignored pages of half-decent roleplay just because I didn't feel like coming up with something for that character, but did for another character.

4. What is your 'character age spread' between young, middle aged, old and very old etc?
35, 35, 34, 34, 33, 33, 32, 30, 29, 24, 21
Median: 33. Range: 14. Mean: 30.909....

5. Do you replace a character that dies with a newspawn or wait until you are left with a few characters then create several within a short time?
Haven't had to do that yet.

1. 14
2. Depends on the person's schedule, or lack thereof.
3. Time is a limited resource. After a certain point, yes, of course. IT SIMPLE MATHS. For what that point is, see answer #2. (Oh yeah, I'll dodge these kinds of questions all day long!)
4. About a third of my chars are over 110 years (one is actually 109, but not for long)
About a third are just at or below 70
The other third are in their early 30's with just one in her late 20s.
5. Depends. If I feel I'm playing too much cantr, I don't replace dead chars. If I'm craving moar cantr in my life, I do.

1.How many characters do you currently have?
15
2. Roughly how many characters do you consider to be the optimum number?
8
3. Does having more characters mean less RP attention is given to each one?
Yes...I just can't play well or can't kill some chars.
4. What is your 'character age spread' between young, middle aged, old and very old etc?
i have some young ones and old ones but none of my chars been able to live until their seventies yet.
5. Do you replace a character that dies with a newspawn or wait until you are left with a few characters then create several within a short time?

1. How many characters do you currently have? 9

2. Roughly how many characters do you consider to be the optimum number? 7 or 8, something around half, in case they get boring and you want a new char desperately (that's how I wind up with new ones)

3. Does having more characters mean less RP attention is given to each one? No way, I honestly don't spend much time doing stuff in Cantr even when I'm online all day. Everyone else would have to be constantly active to keep me busy enough to ignore a character. I even check on my most boring chars every chance I get.

4. What is your 'character age spread' between young, middle aged, old and very old etc? All my chars are under 30 right now.

5. Do you replace a character that dies with a newspawn or wait until you are left with a few characters then create several within a short time? I haven't lost one yet, but I think I'd make a new one immediately just 'cause I'd me upset and need a distraction. I like my chars =\

1. How many characters do you currently have?
-6

2. Roughly how many characters do you consider to be the optimum number?
-7

3. Does having more characters mean less RP attention is given to each one?
-Depends. Not all characters live active RP lives. So sometimes you decide to make one more character hopping that he/she will spawn in a more livelier place

4. What is your 'character age spread' between young, middle aged, old and very old etc?
-I am quite new as a player so all my characters are 20-21

5. Do you replace a character that dies with a newspawn or wait until you are left with a few characters then create several within a short time?
-Hasn't happened to me yet but I guess I would, if one of my characters dies so that I would replace the griff for my lost one with planning the life of the new spawn

1. How many characters do you currently have?
14... 1 slot died young and is locked

2. Roughly how many characters do you consider to be the optimum number?
15, sometimes things are slow or i have a couple in desolate areas and crave activity. if someone wants to have less they can have less, but need that space for 15 especially if someone wants to help fill in the emptyness lol

3. Does having more characters mean less RP attention is given to each one?
no, lack of people waking to rp does it, as well as depending how a player decides to play a char (wether they bother putting any rp into them or not)

4. What is your 'character age spread' between young, middle aged, old and very old etc?
21 to...... substantially over 100

5. Do you replace a character that dies with a newspawn or wait until you are left with a few characters then create several within a short time?
usually right away unless i find myself busy.

Fourteen.

2. Roughly how many characters do you consider to be the optimum number?

It depends - sometimes the full fifteen can be more than enough, and sometimes having fourteen or fifteen is too much.

3. Does having more characters mean less RP attention is given to each one?

I don't think it does, and at the moment a lot of my characters are experiencing rather quiet days.

4. What is your 'character age spread' between young, middle aged, old and very old etc?

Mine are currently 38 (eleven are this age), two are 32 and one is 30.

5. Do you replace a character that dies with a newspawn or wait until you are left with a few characters then create several within a short time?

I usually replace as soon as I can, but I might wait for the next one so I can come up with a more original character.
