Dissappearing herbs

Postby Arenti » Wed Feb 23, 2011 8:05 am

For a while know one of my chars has been growing herbs and not in town when it finishes growing. At first of course I thought someone picked it up. My char asked about it in town but they didn't see it being picked up. Also others who might have done so, didn't see it picked up. Of course it's possible it's being lied about in game, but that would make no sense so there might be a bug,

Think about it, if you left plant matter lying on the ground, how long would it stay fresh? It's called deterioration. They're rotting away but because rotten herbs would be useless, it simply makes the pile smaller instead of turning it into a spoiled resource. Once it gets small enough, it expires completely.

The same thing goes for a lot of other things, such as potatoes. That's why it's important to pick things up or drag them inside or put them in containers because with large projects, you could end up losing several kilos in one tick.

So how quick does it deteriorate? In a few days completely gone? As it wasn't on the ground longer than that.

It does seem herb rotting isn't that high so it really makes no sense the herbs are gone. And this wasn't the first time. It doesn't matter when my char checks, the herbs are gone every time. And no it's being stolen as he's there in a car. And others are outside and saying no one picked up herbs.

I'm not quite sure how it works but I wouldn't leave any rotting resources on the ground for longer than absolutely necessary. If there are people in town, tell them to pick up the herbs and hold them for you until you get back. I remember once when we finished a max length potato or carrot harvesting project, several kilos of it got deleted in one click just because no one was awake to help with dragging.

I don't think you get my point. It couldn't have rotten away so fast but still it was completely gone without anyone taking it. And this wasn't the first time it happened before. So I wonder if it's a bug that makes it disappear or if it's indeed just in game reasons. So I would like an answer to that, if it's a bug or not. As it couldn't have rotted away that quickly.

It definitely sounds like a bug and I agree that the stuff couldn't have rotted away. Unfortunately that's about as much as I can say about this.

Same thing happened in a town of mine. But eventually I found that the herbs had been dragged indoors by someone, but the entire town said they never saw it happen.

It's possible this also happened to my char, though the denying that none of them did does make me want to report it in case it is a bug.

healing liquid...

Healing liquid, not all work. Why is this?
Somehow you strayed and lost your way,
and now there'll be no time to play,
no time for joy,
no time for friends
- not even time to make amends.
You are too naïve if you do believe life is innocent laughter and fun.

I think it's because energy restoring substances have been deactivated. Despite their name not all healing liquids actually had a healing effect.
