From what I hear, the Jersey Shore people are all normal too (we know someone that goes to the same health club as the cast). Are those "reality" shows looking to capture reality, or just have good ratings?

You know what sucks? Emotions. I hate being bipolar. I'm a logical person, naturally, but my bipolar makes it so I can't even think or reason properly.

How's the BF? I assume you managed to see him or at least hear from him again? Was he alright?

Yeah. He got out last night, nothing's broken, thank god. He's on pain meds, though, and I have no idea how he's going to pay for the ambulance and medication and stuff. He doesn't have insurance and he's struggling to pay bills as it is.
I still haven't been able to see him, but I'm going over today.

Ouch, yeah an ambulance is not cheap, but as they always say, at least he's okay! Broken bones are no fun, for sure.
Hope he's alright and has a quick recovery!
Not sure if you were serious or being a little hyperbolic about the bipolar, but I know someone that is/was bipolar and somehow she was able to go off her meds without issue later on. It was almost like it only seriously affected her for a couple of years. I didn't even know that was possible. (Or maybe it wasn't actually bipolar, just similar? I don't know.)

A) No I am legitimately diagnosed bipolar disorder, and I was on meds but can no longer afford them. It sucks. It really really sucks.
B) I forgot to mention this, but an hour before the accident, he received some news. His brother had his appendix out, and they found cancer behind it. His brother is 22. That's why he crashed, actually, because he was so upset and distracted.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
A) I believe it, bipolar is no joke. The person I know had at least once or twice blacked out entire bits of memory, hallucinations, panic attacks, during the time it was bad. How you can go from that to only maybe suffering some swings in mood is a bit of a mystery to me. She is under considerably less stress now, but I didn't realize that could make such a huge impact.
B) That is awful, way too young to young to have to think about things like cancer, but I guess the appendicitis was lucky if it helped them to find it earlier. I always get paranoid when I hear stories like that, about every little weird thing my body does that I think might be a symptom of some kind of disease or other that I keep brushing off. Hopefully it's a kind that is easily treatable. I'm sorry to hear about all this bad news you're having. I hope things turn around.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Yeah, thanks.
And bipolar...it really sucks. Everything is a high or a low and extreme and dramatic and you can't help it--I don't want to cry everytime a certain car commercial comes on, but the music makes me want to cry it's so pretty.
It's really dumb.
But I'll try to stop being such a downer, that's no fun.

Bah, don't worry about it. That's what strangers are for, right? I think you're entitled and this is certainly the thread for it.
I've got a bit of the opposite problem. My emotions are somewhat muted with a few exceptions. I don't think apathy is a disorder, however, and its shocking easy to deal with except when people are expecting you to be more shook up by something than you are.
There are two songs that can get me misty eyed though. One is Hallelujah - the version on Shrek, by Rufus Wainwright I think. I think I've heard other versions since that I liked more, but that was the one that got me attached to the song. I absolutely love it. I get pissed when people on American Idol or elsewhere try to cover it and do a sh*t job of it (and most do). I'm offended, like they shouldn't even be attempting that unless they really know what they're doing. If you can't make your voice drip with pain, then you have no business singing it, IMO.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Actually, apathy is the other half of the bipolar coin. I've gone numb for days and weeks, and that can be worse than too much emotion.
On another note, just had another pain attack. It was bad. Boyfriend was here, and I wish he hadn't seen that.
It was worse than usual. I'm thinking maybe it could be an ulcer. God, it hurt. I've never been awake for it before. It started kinda slow, and then it was like someone was squeezing my insides. Waves and waves of pain.
It lasted longer than usual, and when it stopped, it was so sudden, it was kinda scary.
FML seriously I'm so depressing right now.

I seriously wish I could work from home or have a private office. I can tune out a lot of things but the two loud talkers have been tag-teaming all morning. Soon as one stops and I think I can get some work done, the other starts.

Congratulations!

I find that if I post or click something every ten minutes or so, it won't log me out, but if I sit there idly for more than 30 minutes it'll log me out.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Thought: I'm trying to figure out what it says about me, that, never having read any comic books, my first thought upon walking into a women's restroom and finding that one of the toilet seats has had an arm snapped off, was, "Oh, the Hulk must have come through here."
I believe I'm going to make a bad decision and try to pull an all-nighter tonight because I am still suffering from plague and need to study for those tests tomorrow. I'll be able to stay awake through 2 PM, but then I'll start to lose language and coordination just in time for PE (mini-rant: PE at the university level, really?), which should be tons of totally unsafe fun.
