I remember basic formulas like (E2+F7)/D4, but averages, exponents, etcetera I've completely forgotten.

I used to know how to plug in mathematical formulas of intermediate complexity in Excel, but it's been so long since I've learned and used that...

TotD: Apologies to anyone who has had characters affected by my recent disappearance. I try to check at least once a day, but some things are keeping me from that. Will update in future.
Thanks for everyone's patience.

Me too...quite easy to do in Excel.
I don't even HAVE excel and math makes my brain hurt. I never even passed geometry.

I didn't like geometry, it was relatively difficult for me. And yet I managed to get the highest score on the final out of the two classes my teacher taught.
Algebra was easy for me. I passed both 1 and 2 with flying colors.
Trig so far....is just a review of the early portion of Algebra 2. And my teacher explains everything. Needless to say, I play a lot of Cantr during that class, or sleep when Cantr's being especially slow.

I was in all these honors classes in middle school so from like 7th grade on my math was all on a computer. Except 10th grade.
I swear sometimes I see my math 'teachers' on tv.

That's a good idea!
Sometimes my characters will write in a note what the value for something is in particular for future reference. but after doing Cantr trades for RL years calculating lots of ratios and addition has gotten pretty automatic, while adding in benefits for distance. Distance is very significant sometimes.
Eventually one of my characters may be defining rates for many resources and items if he decides to really go forward with this coin thing..

Math on a computer?
They make us do it on paper, sometimes without a calculator. Which is fine sometimes, because it means people are exercising their abilities to do long division. I bet over half the kids in my chemistry class don't know how to do that. I once took a test in AP Chem, very math-heavy and lots of division. I forgot to grab a calculator, and of course everybody else had one. I still made the highest grade.
Do you remember the quadratic formula?
I luvs that equation.

I learned how to use this last semester: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maple_(software)
It reminds me of programming syntax.

Me too! Like, like, more than a friend. I really couldn't explain why, but <3333 the quadratic formula. I'm not much of a fan of math otherwise, though I did really like geometry despite its general uselessness.

Geometry is useless.
The only thing I can see that's useful from it is being able to explain in theorem format why I do what I do when solving algebra equations and inequalities.
Completing the square? Eh.
Factor by grouping? Noo.

Oh God. Our math teacher in highschool had a CD that played a quadratic formula song everytime we were learning about it or test pre-reviewing it. To this day I still sing and dance a little while uselessly reciting it to who ever happens to be listening.

I never had to memorize the quadratic formula, so I don't have it memorized. I used to have a cool quadratic formula program on my calculator though.

I don't care about Football much (I don't watch football, including the Superbowl), but my favorite team just won. Yay for green and yellow.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Lol I didn't know Cantr had a football team.
Edit: I should have gone to bed hours ago, and I was just sitting here with this new toy I downloaded, playing with it, and all of a sudden my heart starts hurting. Not like pressure, just pain. I try to ignore it, and it spreads to my left lung, then quickly to my right. I moved to my bed and was just laying there, in so much pain it was hard to think. Again, no pressure, not difficult to breathe at all, just...pain. And it hurt really, really bad. And then it just went away. For no reason.
I have no idea what happened but it kinda freaked me out.
To bed now.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
I'm now over 2000 posts, and I'm almost at 1.00 posts per day! (currently .95). I think it was .7 something when I became GAB, and I've watched it increase.
Also, for a few years or so my most active thread was Religion, even though it's been years since I posted on it. My most active thread is now this thread.
So yay, I'm spending lots of time on Cantr forums..
