Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
In the grand scheme of things, six years is not a long time, but I'm just a kid and it's a significant chunk of my life. It is also, as of today, how long the boyfriend and I have been together. Weeeird.

I'm a secret shopper and I've done more assignments this week than I have in the past two years put together.

And what does this mean, exactly? I almost deleted the post because I thought you were a spammer (until I checked that you actually had a game account).

Not only do I have a game account, but I applied to be on the programming team. Cause my life isn't quite busy enough as it is.
It basically means that I go out and rate restaurants and other service-based shops, and get paid for it. Tonight I am getting an eye exam (that my work benefits pay for) and getting reimbursed by the main company $50.

It's a Canadian thing. I did it in my hometown for a few months. Not good as an income, but it's alright for a little extra dough for coffee here and there.

Its not just Canadian. I worked in alot of restaurants/bars where we would hire professional "spotters" to see if the bartender was ringing everything up, or underpouring to make an extra shot or two per bottle and then not charging for it. Little things like a partially torn napkin or a pile of straws etc, (counting devices). They also have 'mystery shoppers' who get paid a small stipend to patronize a particular store etc and give ratings on service, product etc. Its a good gig and I saw it cost more than a few people their jobs.

When I look at the assignment board, 90% of the assignments are in the states, so I know it's not just a Canadian thing.
It's not a good paycheque, but it earns me some free dinners and some free services, and I get to have a voice in the service industry.
My real job is in the construction industry.

RotD: One of my symptoms is nearly constant headaches that make it impossible to do math! >.< How am I going to work out trades and sell stuffs now when I can't think past the pain in my head?!
Simple trade rates are easy, its the more complex stuff like metals and working out how much this item should cost that's killing me! I was never very good at it anyway, but now it seems impossible...to top it all off, pain pills don't work!

I wrote a spreadsheet with some complex formulas. Now I just plug in how much of each resource something takes, and it tells me what the relative value is.
