I don't know if this was ever mentioned before and don't have time to look though over a years worth of posts so I would like to add this as a suggestion.

Once I started a project I wasn't allowed to do. So I lost the materials I put on the project. And once I put material on a project and then decided the material could have been put on a better project.

So is it possible to make started projects reversible so you can have your materials back?

It's been talked about before. Who knows, someday it might happen.

Then I'll get back the 900g iron Alex Blackrock sunk into 3 glass ovens right before he died.

I would also like to see this implemented.
It should be a project taking time and not all resources should be returned though, if it was up to me.

The downside to it is that X might have put 15,000 grams of stone on his house and then spend a long while to travel to a location with stone, dig the rest up and return...just to find that someone has "undone" his project, taken his stone and left.

But that wouldn't be unrealistic in my eyes...

Well, I was thinking more like if there is a name next to the project the things end up in that person's inventory just like when you finish a project.

And if no ones name is on the project then first come first serve :)

Then pirogs problem would still happen, if you don't have all the materials in a project when you first start then you never get it done because people will steal it.

Perhaps there could start a notice like when someone is breaking a lock, so that other people in town will notice it.

In that way a well functioning community would stop such plunderers, while building someting in an isolated place where noone is around to safeguard your project might be a bad idea...
Building an expensive house or a car in an unprotected area would be a bad idea IRL too...
