Rice Harvester

Postby .::. MysticGötén .::. » Mon Jul 12, 2004 6:41 pm

I wos just thinking...

How come there isn't a machine or tool yet to harvest rice or collect more rice then a sickle?
There is a carrot and potatoe harvester, there is a knife to collect more asperges then with a tool.... how bout the rice?
Maybe there is, and I just overlooked but that chance is rather slim.

If it is suggested before, how come there hasn't been implemented one?

Thanks for the suggestion, MysticGötén. I'm putting this on the To-Do list.

Nah, I was just getting your hopes up. Why on Earth (or Cantr) would anyone want something like a rice harvester? Really now, you could have thought of something better.

There already are rice harvesters (like in real life) implemented into cantr.

they're called people.

Hmm, maybe make it that you could "grind" rice with a hammer, then the rice transfrom into a healing food... Would that be better? or make it if it is grinded, then you only need 60 grams to eat each time instead of the 90 with the shells

i think you mean something to shuck the rice if you grind it you make rice flour . i beleive nunchuku where originally used for this purpose by chinese and japanese people in the middle ages.

Nunchuku are a type of flail, which is already in the game. Maybe we can flail the rice to shuck it, hammer some large bones, add both and some water to a big pot and make some soup.
Reality was never my strong point.

I think the reason you have to eat so much rice is because dry rice doesn't really help against hunger quick. At least thats how I think about rice IRL. You need quite alot in order to satisfy your hunger. While when eating meat, your quite fast filled.

they are now but they ariginally where used as a tool not a weapon they became a weapon used by revolutionaries against the japanese i beleive on a off shore chinese island by the local pesantry to help fight them off. but that's besides the point. if rice is going to be getting a machine to give huge yeilds perhap's the machine could not produce rice as it is now but raw rice or something of the such that needs a bit more processing before it can be eaten. probably a dumb idea i know

Thats a great idea... then if raw rice is to be eaten, you need 250 grams to satisfy hunger (because the volume is so small) then if you put the rice in a container and put a little water in (100 grams water to 500 grams rice) then you only need 50 grams of rice a day (because the rice expands so much)

What would the advantage of a rice harvester....using a sickle 10 days already fills the max amount of your inventory...making many rice a day also would change the economical value of rice radically.

it would then be both rare and common...
