It's totally not for the reasons you were complaining about though, so it doesn't count.
I complained about a lot of things about that town. I just didn't posted all of them.

Re: Favorite Cities
This is long overdue, and I'm not sure it fits considering it's not a city....but it's a location.

Olipifirovash West seemed like a lot of fun while I was there, kind of wishing I'd been able to stay longer, but it wouldn't have made much sense for my char.
Seems it would've required me to be bilingual and at my computer 20 hours a day to really follow everything that was goin on though.

Markedly so than usual, at the very least.

This town still get interesting when it sleeps for days because if you watch it for the most part it works as one. This is insanely hard to do in Cantr and Ive only seen it done well four times in the year or so Ive been playing.
Blackrocks
PDW
Vel'noran's (this was so sad to watch the end of.. it was like watching Home Depot almost fail for trying to grow to fast...god Im getting old.)
The other three. I like this one because the ones that seem to stay just do it because they want to see something grow. They arent overly paid, forced , or made to commit. You just fit in or you dont, and that's just dam nice.

I couldn't agree more. I've had great experiences with most of my newspawns that have had the kind of opportunity to be a part of these kinds of organizations. Only on rare occasion has it not wound up working out better than trying to work for a set rate. Besides "pay", they often get much better RP and feel like they're actually involved in something that matters. Plus, it is SO much easier to deal with as a leader rather than trying to keep track of the work everyone is doing and for how long, etc.
It kind of amazes me how you can be so generous with some people, offer to help them with anything they want, solicit input, and they still just sleep until they starve. Who knows...

Re: Favorite Cities
Most of my newspawns have had to work hard for their living. Some not even getting payed at all, or had the deal changed halfway through the work.
Of my three chars now in a leading position, two of them are very generous, sharing both responsibilities and wealth. It seems to work well in engaging newspawns.

I heart Aragon.
And all that is now
And all that is gone
And all that's to come
And everything under the sun is in tune
But the sun is eclipsed by the moon.

We are pretty cool, aren't we?
Too bad you decided to leave, you could've heard some pretty interesting stories if you had "pulled some tongues" (Spanish expression).

I'm also beginning to find that if you're extra generous up front, you win people's loyalty pretty quickly. Get someone a good weapon and shield and they suddenly panic less about getting their character equipped and can enjoy the camaraderie more. Either that or it just front-loads them with a sense of guilt and obligation.
The hardest working and most group-loyal characters I have personally are the ones that wound up getting their needs fulfilled, and therefore have plenty of time to pour into helping others.
And is everyone that plays in PDW on the forums? I'm almost sure I've seen more people comment about that place than actually live there.

Re: Favorite Cities
My current favs:
- Aragon - for everything, above all for being (very) alive
- Pok Desert West - but we're all crazy here
- Cantr City - the perfect ghost town of spooky stories
- Shortinazy area - for certain character(s)
And I just love the resources and locations placement there.
past:
- Shai - but I haven't been there for a while, and when I was leaving it was still sleepy after the blackout
- Klojt - haven't visited for even loooonger time, but have nothing but great memories of it.
