Okay, this is the second time in the last twenty-four hours the forums have given me an Error 500 and a "this webpage is not available" –type message while I have an otherwise good connection and everything else is working fine.

It's not you. It's the server. Its not something I can fix either. People just need to not use the search.

But if you mean the floods in Brazil, yes they were on the news here (Europe).

Nowhere is all around ;)

And no, I wasn't referring to Brazil. It was about an European country that sometimes seems to disappear from the world map  At least in the international news.

Er, the Ukraine? Hungary? Romania? Those are my three best guesses, though I also thought Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, etc.

Rant/excessive whining: I still can't make a bloody decision about my online class. One the one hand, I don't need it for my degree. If the three classes I need for next semester didn't have prerequisites, I'd probably be finishing this semester, or even last semester if I'd really wanted to pack things in. But, because I had to take the steps from 3300 to 3301 to 3302 to, finally 4391 and...the other class that I actually can't remember right now, it had to be more spread out. I actually don't care that I don't need it for my degree because I'm more interested in the knowledge than the degree itself (which, I have to say, is one of the most stupid things I've ever done), but I'm really paranoid that I won't be able to find classes to bring me up to full enrollment next semester - which is pretty ridiculous since I can literally take anything. I am a generalist at heart, so dabbling in things outside of my chosen field should be interesting, but, again, I am crazy and paranoid. There's also the argument that if I drop the online class, I can take it in person with an awesome instructor who I otherwise won't have a chance to experience. Knowing me, my indecisiveness is going to lead to the decision not to drop the class just because I'll take so long debating the issue that I won't be able to make the other one.

Also, I need to dig out Victor so I can see about editing the manuscript the boyfriend's chiropractor sent me. Or was it his doctor? He's been to so many appointments since getting hurt that I can't keep track.

Mage, definitely. Trust me on this.
What? Not that kind of online class?
Never mind...

On a completely different topic -- anyone know of a good website out there where I can get a fake twitter home page template so that I can mock up a series of tweets (preferably with the right font, etc.)? It's part of a gift...
I've been unable to find anything, but I'm probably using the wrong search terms. PM me, please. (And what I know about twitter can be summarized in probably one paragraph. My wife's the twitterer in the house)

Ooh, I hate it when my uncle doesn't tell me one of his friends is staying over! I wake up in the middle of the night or early morning to take the dog out, turn on the light (wearing only a nightgown, mind you) and there's a man with a hangover sleeping on the couch! (or was until the light goes on) T.T A little warning would be nice, you know? *sigh*

I went back to school today.
First three classes were alright. Quiet.
Fourth block...

J says: "Well look who's back from the dead!"

A few minutes later, M comes up to me and is all like,
M says: "Whoa, you're back."
You say: "Yeah."
M walks away, and C flashes that grin at me that says that she thinks somehow it means M likes me and wants to go on a date with me. I doubt he likes me in that way, but I digress.

Later when we were taking attendance (there was a substitute teacher), they were calling out names and people were like, "Here." And whatever.
The highest-ranking student officer, Z, was standing next to the sub pointing out people as they answered on the attendance list. And when he got to my name, I was like, "Here!" and raised my hand, and I saw Z looking around, and then, "Oh, look! Cool! [S]'s here!" and then half the room stops what they're doing to look at me.
After attendance, Z came over with C, SM, and I, and we were all messing with our phones playing Mario ringtones and whatnot. It was funny.

I love my band geek buddies.

Our band program is run by a small hierarchy, headed by our band director. The band director chooses which students make it into what ranks within the council and officer positions.
The hierarchy leads as follows:

Band director
Colonels (including field commanders/drum majors)
Captains
Sergeants and Lieutenants
Regular students and other service positions

Regular students report to their sergeants (section leader) and lieutenants (only applicable if the student is also in either logistics or administrative personnel).
Sergeants report to their captains (large section leader I.e. woodwind, brass, percussion, etc.).
Captains and lieutenants report to colonels (highest rank a student can get).
And the colonels report to the band director.

Colonels and captains are part of the council, but all ranks except for director and regular students are officers.

Needless to say, Z is a colonel. M is a colonel too, actually.
I'm in administrative personnel.

Ironically, we have more colonels than captains.
