1) people who don't want to do what they are ordered to do
there should be more respect and obedience in cantr
2) people who complain about cantr
3) people who complain about departments' work - if you don't like their work, then why don't you work your ass off instead of them?

Are you, like, channeling one of your characters here, or do you actually think this?

LOL I rather believe that because of people with your attitude, people quit.

He has a point actually. If each and every character is an individualist, who just wants to do their thing, it's really hard to get a larger organisation of any kind started. We can't have kings in Cantr unless some people are willing to play servants.

He did put it differently. Like he wants everyone to listen to him.

Mmhmm. I agree. There need to be people who are willing to not be leaders, to be servants. Those lowers in the DoUrden and Blackrocks and Stone Knights have the right ideas.

Believe me at the moment there is more need for good leaders.

Yeah, I think it was more the way he phrased it. And the way he seemed to assume it's killing the game that all characters aren't like that.
Most of my chars tend to start out slanted toward being followers...it just makes sense to me for newspawns. The ones who break from that mold and develop attitudes are strong individualistic streaks usually the ones who can't find any competent older chars to give them guidance in their first week or so.
So, I would suggest what really hurts Cantr is not the lack of blind loyalty, but the lack of leaders worth following.

Maybe it's just the lack of people willing to actually work together. I mean, the towns and organizations you find that are really successful are ones where people are actually trying to live and work together, not just cause drama (I'm one of those drama kings sometimes, but whatever). We just need more of those.
Oh well, anyway, I guess that's something that annoys me about Cantr. The lack of widespread unified nations.

I agree with Marian. Most of my chars gladly live in a town with good leadership. But unfortunately there's hardly any so more and more of my chars need to lead. While I can't give attention enough to all of them. And the lack of widespread nations is because of many chars so sleepy that it's not possible to travel through towns fast to check on many towns that would be in the nation.

I've got a char working with a few others towards a goal similar to that right now, but, the problem is that active, reliable characters are so few that sending them all around to deal with other towns spreads the ones in the home base too thin, but if you don't send somebody around regularly in a few years everyone starts to forget they're even part of the group, or maybe resents it because you're suddenly just popping up and expecting things of them, and the whole thing falls apart.
And, the drama always causes delays and difficulties too.

I think the problem is people expect people to just 'play servants' no one is going to 'play servant' they're going to want incentives, just like in real life. If someone makes a decent salary as a servant, they'll play servant.

Seconded. I've started paying people outright and it seems to have made a huge difference in motivation.
