Shielding!!!

Postby Yo_Yo » Fri Jul 09, 2004 6:20 am

We have many forms of shielding, but hows about something more practicle. I think that bone shields should be implimented. We have shell shields, but thats only good when you have turtles around. Bone shields could help a wider range of people.

I second that idea. Although I think it can be made up of about

500 grams of large bones.

no tools needed.

so it should be giving to lowest sheilding rate also because it would be a little on the brittle side.

This has been suggested before, when more things were suggest for about bones, I don't think it was paid much attention, but I like this. Oh except almost all shields take a hammer to make dragon slayer so put that on there.

It was headed lots of thoughts by me, but I thought -really- hard.

(A lot of thinking process here, that I can't say, or else you'd find out about some secret stuff! :D)

I thought -against- the bone shield, after weighing the pros and cons. However, because you're so persistant, and because bones do need more things, AND 'because I can' - I'll add a Bone Shield.

Added.

Oooh, just like that??? How is it possible to just add something, acting on impulse?

Don't the bone things usually take a knife but no hammer? that would allow a shield without a wood requirement (good thing)

I was thinking that, but then I went... your knife is obviously made of BONE. Why would you use a bone knife to carve bone? Exactly. The just the same as using an Iron file to make an Iron key - you wouldn't do it. You need to use a stronger material. And having the other knife, made of steel, I doubt you'd get ahold of one of those to make a bone shield. If you had steel, you'd probably have an Iron Shield by then.

So, I made it hammer. Sorry.

Bud don't you make the bone ring and all such items with the knife? By the same logic, you couldn't do that.

You can shape a harder material with a softer one, you know.

Hmm, you hold a very good point there!

Okay. I'll change it. From hammer to knife it becomes.

I'm sure it is a really terrible shield, but to someone, somewhere, it will represent shelter from goats...or whatever...

I'm having real problems figuring out how a shield can be made out of bone...

It doesn't feel sound very practical...I think there is a reason for bone shields not being around IRL
