Finally got internet up in my room, internet goes haywire and randomly blocks sites--really, only Cantr. Currently at the lab.
In other dudes, attempting to snarf 6 pounds of gourmet cookie dough has not left me very happy, and I didn't get taken to faerieland because the moon decided to play peekaboo with the clouds last night. :[
Also, Snick, how long have you had...well, Snick? I've had my older cats since I was like...5 or 6, and though I'm allergic to all animals (and I mean can't-breathe bad), I've sort of developed an immunity to them. Are you sure you're not sick or something?

She just turned five years last month.

Blah. Dad had another heart attack. Those of you around three years ago might remember the first set he had. He's been in the hospital, they're keeping him overnight, shuffling him to another hospital in the am for an angio something or other test, and deciding after that test whether they need to A)Change his meds dosage B)Put a new stint in (4 hour surgery-3 day recovery) or C)open heart surgery (see: triple bypass, etc, sometimes a 12 hr surgery, 7 day in hospital/months recovery out of hospital).

Fucking yay.

*headdesk* Damnit! Why is it that the one year that you decide to not get anything for your coworker for Christmas (in the past, I don't think we've exchanged more than goodies) is the year they step up and get you a gift card? Now I feel like a complete ass. There is no way to do anything now without it looking blatantly like I'm trying to save face. And to think, the reason I didn't get anything is because I didn't want to make her feel obligated to get me anything, since they don't have money. *headdesk*

I have similar dilemmas about giving too much, too little, etc. Maybe it's best to think of gift giving as an extended conversation that can last for years, instead of just this occasion. You'll find a time to express your appreciation.

Thought 1: Yay, another 4.0. As long as I don't slip back in to mental instability, I will be done by this time next year.

Thought 2: It's cute how people who don't swear like to think that the people who do do so because they think it makes them look cool, or because they can't think of any other words.

Thought 3: I really need to clean the kitchen 'cause the boyfriend's been baking.

I got a nice job, finally, :) and conveniently after the semester ended. Though this means I'll have less time for Cantr.

@Rebma: A big hug from here. I know how that feels. Don't give up on hope, dads are stronger than we think.

@Doug: That's where your headaches come from! Stop headdesking!! *helps Snick to slip another pillow*

What's even funnier is the words they come up with to replace them: "Son of a biscuit eater!" "Fruit packets!" "Shucky darn!" "Cheese and RICE!"
Technically speaking, that's doing the SAME THING, just with different words. So they're not really being any better, those words are just more socially acceptable.

In other news, realllly can't decide whether I want to stay home or go see the fam for christmas. I'm not that fond of my family, and realllly want to stay here (I'd get the house all to myself, for once!) , but they keep luring me with all of this delicious food and my awful aunt's going to be gone....it's a dilemma. >.<

I understand your point, but it's at least respectful/polite to those who don't want to hear those certain words. Also, swear words most often, if not always, are words that have a bad meaning. I'm not saying that using replacement words is necessarily a good thing, but certainly better in many situations.
