I've implemented a temporary fix to allow CantrSpy to run on Mandriva (the userID and password are stored in plain text; according to EchoMan, there will soon be changes to the way CantrSpy has to authenticate, so I'll wait until then before making wider changes). Users of operating systems without the same problem need not download this version; also it will not trigger any automatic updates. Install using the following link:

CantrSpy 2.8.2, for Mandriva users

Here is a screenshot of CantrSpy running on a Mandriva installation:

So everytime I bring up the player page (whether I double click on the icon, or right click and select "Open player page"), it brings up two of the player page. Every time.
Mostly just a minor annoyance, but I thought I should tell you.

On Kubuntu, the thing works great except for one thing - it can't seem to open the browser.
Have seen this across a few different set-ups now, from kubuntu 9.something to the 10.10 version, using different browsers.
I tried one thing that I figured should be a good fix but that resulted in a whooooooole lot of WineBrowsers wanting to run... so I killed that non-fix.

In the next few days, if I can be arsed to do so, I'll look at another possible fix... but for me it's not a deal-breaker, whether I bring up the browser through CantrSpy and directly land on the char page, or open the browser the other way and have to manually load the page, click the log-in link, then the button... as long as I don't have to wear some funky girly outfit and give lapdances to other guys, I'm already happy with it showing which/how many of my chars have stuff going on

The two player page thing, I've had that happen in the past, on Windows and the first time I ran it on Linux (wasn't on Kubuntu back then), but each of those times the problem eemed temporary, at some point it'd go back to opening just one page.
I haven't been able to reproduce that either so I used to think it was just my computer having PMS or something... but looks like it wasn't just that.

Hmm... curious. Sounds like it could involve a problem with my double-click detection code and/or AIR's browser window opening API. I'll try to find out what's causing it.

In my case, it definitely looks like it's Air's API - I tried another possible fix but that didn't do squat, and then I tested it out with another AIR-based app and bingo, same result, no browser window opening.
I haven't got that much experience with AIR so I'll leave that to the brighter people (though I wonder if it has to do with possibly access rights that AIR might be needing, or another issue that AIR might be having on Kubuntu - reading up on that now as I write this).
