I'll give on the insects. Gotta hate the flies.

Deadly animals? Might see a few snakes if you go looking for them.

And what is a throw pillow?

If you've ever picked up a true down-filled pillow and not one of those synthetic knock-offs, you'd know.
They are take your head right off in a fight, deadly. :)

:roll:
I can't believe neither one of you know what a throw pillow is. It's a useless little pillow, usually completely square and uncomfortable, that women like to pretend are decorative items and just 'throw' anywhere. The corner of a couch, over 9000 of them on top of the duvet (another useless item), or, if they're particularly yuppie and think they're cultured, around a low coffee table with some bamboo so they'll feel fancy and asian. :roll:
Also, Addicted, have you ever heard of the box jellyfish? Wikipedia classifies it as "among the most venomous creatures in the world". Where do they live, you say? "Box jellies are primarily found in coastal waters off Northern Australia."
Want more? How about the taipan? "One species, the inland taipan (Oxyuranus microlepidotus), which is endemic to Australia, has the most toxic venom of any terrestrial snake species worldwide." Or the blue ring octopus? "Despite their small size and relatively docile nature, they are currently recognized as one of the world's most venomous animals." The stonefish: "Synanceia is a genus of fish of the family Synanceiidae, the Stonefishes, whose members are venomous, dangerous, and even fatal to humans. It is the most venomous fish in the world."
And that's just to name a few! What do they all have in common? They're among the most poisonous [whatever] in the world and they all live in Australia!
Now, I know you Australians have all been bred to be used to this, what with licking hallucinogenic toads and wrestling crocodiles all the time, but my poor, soft, American body cannot stand up to the pure terror that is Australia! I can't even work out for 20 minutes because I have a panic attack that the one other peson there is judging me and thinks I'm fat and I think I'm going to go lay down now. :oops:

Interesting. I call those little couch-decor things Accent Pillows, as does my family.
Throw pillows were always the bigger ones at the head of the bed.

My family hath misled me all these years?!!!

@phoenixannwn - you forgot about the poisonous spiders and great white sharks. Also, don't forget the deadly koala.

What about the drop bears? :lol:

I get out more then most and enjoy the great out doors. I've seen a few sharks and blue ringed octopi, a deadly fish or two and a few red backed spiders. But in my day to day life, no deadly animals except people.

(Koalas are not cute and cuddly, they can rip you up, but I doubt it would kill you and anyway I've only seen them in wildlife enclosures)

Koalas actually have become a major concern in Europe since they're causing tremendous damage to eucalyptus plantations on the Iberian peninsula. As an invasive species they don't have any natural predators over here and multiply unchecked. It's really no laughing matter.

Well, since technically we were discussing animals, not insects--Addicted having admitted there were many dangerous insects--I deliberatley left out the hordes of awful spiders you have. I swear, I've seen BABIES smaller than some of your spiders.

And if we're talking about danger to crops, Australia's kind of all over the place with that one. One of my examples, the cane toad, was brought in to eat some sort of beetle, and it ended up becoming a full-blown plague.
Kinda like kudzu here in the southern US. Only kudzu isn't terrifyingly huge, won't make you hallucinate, and isn't a necrophiliac. That I know of.

A) WTF ARE DROP BEARS?! THEY SOUND LIKE PARACHUTING BEARS WHICH IS TERRIFYING
B)Of course you don't think your outback animals are deadly, you Australians aren't scared of anything, you're all like Hercules without the guilt complex and just way too chipper. You probably all strangle snakes as babies and tow cars with your bare hands for a living. Haven't you ever seen crocodile dundee?!

Insects are animals;
Humans are animals;
∴ Humans are insects.
