Re: Oblivion
I started to play it recently, the Xbox version, and it's... just amazing.

Re: Oblivion
I've played it. It's a great game but I was disappointed by the "enemies get stronger as you level up" thing after Morrowind. I may start playing it again though. What mods do you use, Cdls?

Re: Oblivion
Quite a few actually, including one that makes all enemies level independently of you. It is quite fun as it creates a more "lifelike" gameworld, one where you can meet something on the roads that can kill you in one shot, or just as easily, something you can kill in one shot.
I used quite a few from this listing here:

All I can say is it is a great game still even after being out for so long.

Re: Oblivion
Thanks, I'm going to try those. Actually, I may start playing again next week to let off some steam, but it seems I have to start it all over again...too bad, because I got pretty high up in that killer guild last time.
Meeting something that can kill you in one shot - that's one thing I really I liked about Morrowind. I remember entering a dwarf ruin and hearing that machine spider coming. Now that I think about it, it (and its sound) reminds me of the replicators from Stargate.

Re: Oblivion
I play it on Xbox, and though this is my first time playing it through, I've gotten quite far. I like to do as much as I can, so I joined all the guilds and am pretty far up in them though I haven't started the main quest. The reason being that some of the best leveled weapons in the game (IE Umbra) don't level with you so I won't go after any of that till level 25 (I'm 22 or something now).
:{ I wish my computer could fit it, I'm a big fan of mods. Plus, I can't do all the expansions on Xbox, and they seem pretty killer.
Craziest mods?

Wow it has been years ago I played this. Very nice game.
There is no rule that says I can't post as much I want. I asked my lawyer.

Re: Oblivion
Bought the game again on steam for like 20 bucks for the GOTY. Great game, just...the main storyline quest is soooo piss poor >.> Destroy a bunch of the same dungeon over and over essentially. All the rest, the addons and such are great though.

Re: Oblivion
One of my favorite things to do is to enchant a hat with a fire spell, reverse pickpocket a spleeping NPC, place the fire hat in his inventory so when the NPC wakes up, they put on the hat and burn to death.... I know, it sounds kind of morbid but it's amusing in the game.

Re: Oblivion
I'm having an issue with money right now. My Vampire Cure glitch un-glitched and Dorian, the stupid NPC with (literally) endless amounts of money, doesn't have endless amounts of money if he dies. So every time I have to pickpocket him, I have to beat his sneak 698 times. Even with a skill of a hundred, he catches me 2 out of 3 times. Which is bunk. So my poor Breton is poor. :[
Doesn't help that I tried being an atronach for the first time and now live on sorcery potions, ayleid wells, welkynd stones, and the lucky old lady in Bravil even gives out a full magicka bar!
And it's still irritating and money-draining.

I recall buying this game. I have no recollection of playing it.
How strange. I blame job/exams.

Re: Oblivion
Having moved house twice since purchasing it, I have no idea where it would be.
Maybe I'll dig it out once I get fired for exam failure.
