No vehicles while travelling?
Usually, while on the road, you can hit the "People" tab, and beside each character's name, it will say the name of the vehicle they are in (if they're in one).

It works for me. Are you sure the other people are in a vehicle?

....yup, you're right. I'm just crazy, and I've been away from the green so long, I forgot that it doesn't say (location) after their names, like it does to people not in vehicles in town.
