How many people will still be here at relaunch?

I'm smacking my head against the trees a s much as anyone does. I miss the game. But then again, I see the sheer mass of things that need to be fixed. And ... I dont see myself whining about me having to do a better job fixing it. That would be stupid. So I'll happily divide my time between fixing things and coping wit all of these warm and encouraging comments I've seen lately.

I just want to leave a message of encouragement to EchoMan, a message of gratitude for spending his time to solve us all the big problem of not having the game because without this time he devotes I'm not sure how could this be fixed. Furthermore and finally, to record a message that you can count with my help if there's something I can do.

For the rest, I leave a message to be patient, that do not be selfish and that, please, remember what understanding means.

EchoMan, we need you well and happy so don't wear yourself out in the process (Not saying that because I have a vested interest ). Everyone's well being is far more important to me than having the game back. I am sure all of us agree with that. So a big thank you to all involved, once again. It is comforting to know that people out there are doing something to fix the game.

Let me reveal the real reason why I started this poll in the first place.

Ofcourse I understand most "no" voters will not be on the forums any longer. All I am doing here is counting the people that actually vote and maybe even more important, the people that actually vote yes.

So far 65.

As far as my characters concern, everything under 60 people online at a time means 1 or 2 chats every couple of hours. If the number of players is limited to 65 or if we're lucky 100, I do not see that happen too often. To me this means the game will be practically dead. But that's a very negative expression, isn't it?

I'll be back to see how this poll reflects the truth. Afteral, if all the right players are still here, the game will still be fun!

I guess the point is that polls are methodologically flawed somewhat... and for many reasons. Primarily, and in this case, because nobody can really know here whether or not they capture the population.
They do however, capture something. An indicator if you like.

It was the method of choice to get a picture of intentions here then and all I am saying is that, if you think the passage of time has an impact on membership, you have to use the same flawed method again... the same poll.

I personally think it better not to, and just wait and see how many people come back when its possible to. *shrugs*
The poll results could actually put people off coming back in a cruel irony... but i sincerely hope it doesn't.
