Revenging the cute
All of my chracters would see child death as more intolerable than adult death. Even the ones who barely comment or act on such things.

Seeing as children would be played by the same people as adults and really are no more innocent than anyone else, my characters feeling more strongly about them would be purely RP. Anyway, cantr would be a world of mature and crafty children, so I don't know that my characters would have any reason for this bias. Those kids'll slit your thoart if you don't watch'em!

Anyhow, children should be protected by a community as they'll be the future.
To comment on Pirog, I hope that once children are "really" present (unlike the ones now) spawning wouldn't be available anymore. So if you lose a char, you'd have to play a kid for quite some time before you can do any harm.
Perhaps the first two char of an account could spawn somewhere as teenagers.

Well, if children are born at the same rate people spawn now, and age the same way people do now, what are you going to do to protect them, anyhow? There aren't enough shields to go around, and they might not be able to carry them anyway!
So what do you do? Lock them in a building and slip onions and carrots under the door when there is frantic knocking?
...
not a bad idea, actually. You don't have to listen to annoying 'naive child' roleplaying constantly.

Children should just not be introduced into Cantr at all for all of the reasons listed above. Murder, manipulations, hostages, explotiation, poor and annoying RP, and evem more difficult gameplay. Even if Cantr becomes desensitized to children's deaths (how great would that make this game?) the inital retaliation would be massive. Which, of course, would be a good way to get rid of idiots, but still, somebody, somewhere, will set thier child up as a god and kill everyone that doesn't bow and submit tribute to the snot nosed brat.
What might make children playable would be a safety: Children can't be attacked unless they attack or reach a preset age of adulthood, which ever comes first. Knights started training at the age of 7, but didn't enter service untill sometime in thier teens. With the saftey, children aren't just little targets.
The anyomminity of the net will lead to broad massacers unless something is in place to stop it.

Reality was never my strong point.
