Yes, having lots of stuff in Cantr makes you feel like when you cheat in other games. I guess. I can't speak from experience.

On topic: I'm reading old turn reports to write a note about an important event. I'm going to just paste it once the game comes back.

Well, had I known in advance the thing was gonna be down for 5+ weeks, I might actually have had a report sent to me... but since I am very active when it's up, I don't actually bother with those things... :(

You could read death reports..though those might be sad to read.
I only have 26 turn reports, and I wish I had more from my earlier playing times (It took me a long time to understand/care about the day report buttons).
..I just read a couple day reports of my Josh character trying to convince the Macgregors to not kill Snape. I wish I had all the reports. I realize now that all of what the Macgregors were saying was probably true, especially since I know the player, though I still don't think killing him is necessary, though killing me did make more sense. And this happened not long after I turned 16. *sigh* Cantr regrets..

I have a few day reports from 'significant events', but I too came to them late.
They make interesting reading though... :)

Currently... I am back to, almost pathologically, checking the game page... and a little excited too *shuffles*

I have all my turn reports from the first day I started playing 1040something. I use them as my character's long-term memory. With a bit of IC RP'd concentration, and a quick OOC email search, all my characters can remember anything with photographic precision. It's very useful, especially if you misplaced something.

I have characters record important stuff/things people say in notes, which is very helpful, but I still wish I had used more turn reports.

It has never occured to me NOT to click on those buttons (since I started really enjoying Cantr). It's great to have them and they don't take up much space. I use it more for my memory, not my characters. It's not about exact words, but answering questions like "where have I seen that guy/ship?". Interesting when it turns out another of my characters saw that ship really far away.

I regret my laxity with turn reports. I do have some from 7 years ago, of course those chars are long gone... :(

I misunderstood the concept of turn reports. When I started the game on Day 2989 (a lot of people know those two characters, so I see no reason to hide it, though I'm not referring to them by name in public) I didn't know what turn reports were. The earliest turn report I have is from Day 2992, and I remember after clicking the thing freaking out because the link disappeared after clicking on it, so I didn't send any more, and it took me a few days to realise the turn report was in my inbox (for Cantr I use my Yahoo email, which at the time I didn't check regularly). Even after that, I never really messed with it other than occasionally when something happened on a day that I particularly wanted to remember. I didn't start sending them regularly until day 3018 and now I really wish I had started sooner.

The main thing I remember about Snick as a newspawn is that Pyrphoros was around causing a lot of trouble, and something about hers and another newspawn woman's pursuit for clothes. Snick got a fur loin cloth, and I don't know what ever happened to the other newspawn (this was also before I started taking extensive notes about other chars in regards to everything).

Actually, before the game went down this time, I was going to start backing up notes and everything about everyone on Microsoft word or something. I've already started a chart similar to that on Excel involving what I remember of my chars' stats and skills. You could say I'm a bit obsessed…or a lot obsessed, actually. :|

Yeah, I think it's also cool to notice that another character has seen a ship before and paid no attention to it and then it suddenly becomes significant to another character - or even more so if you see a ship and pay no attention to the owner and then later the ship ends up in possession of someone you know and you never find out who the previous owner was even though you'd seen them, just because they never introduced themselves.

I also didn't know how turn reports worked back when I started. I assumed it would show the report on screen and I was wondering when the button just vanished upon being clicked. Later I noticed that it mails it. It would probably be good if there was a little question mark added that would link to an explanation page in the wiki.

As for Snick getting a loin cltoh, she didn't seem like the kind of a person who would care much about what she's wearing and there never seem to be enough newspawn clothes in stock. I also can't remember who the other person was.

She doesn't, so long as she maintains her appearancial* modesty, which is why she chased after a cotton shirt later on. She just wanted something to wear so she wouldn't be running around naked (although a fur loin cloth is pretty darnn close to it, but it's something). I also took the time to read the rules almost immediately upon spawning, which is why she was vocal about it. If I recall correctly, it said something along the lines of, "If the newspawn expresses interest in receiving clothing, than the newspawn may receive whatever newspawn clothing is available at the time being."

And a correction to my previous post: I didn't sent turn reports consistently until day 3021.

I'm curious, though. If anybody has turn reports from Day 3000 with Snick's spawning and Day 2989 with my first chars' spawnings (enough people know them who would probably have those turn reports, so I'm not naming them), I'm interested in seeing them. Could they be PM'ed to me? Please?

* Yes, I'm aware it's not a word, but it is now because I said so. So deal with it. :p
