The worst of my withdrawal symptoms are fading…

Now I just compulsively check the "Cantr not working? Check here first!" thread waiting for the message declaring that Cantr is back up, and I can then gorge myself on all its funness and epicness again. *hopeful glance*
As well as spend time here posting on anything and everything worth posting on.

Oh, so it's YOUR fault, c_b_s! thanks for making the rest of us suffer. :x (BTW, sorry, liked the old avatar better).

Yeah, I did too. I don't have another picture of me with the new glasses yet. There's likely going to be a period of constant avatar changing. I'll get it right eventually.

And it's still not back up. I'm withdrawing badly. I've been playing too much DDO, I need to be saved!
And all that is now
And all that is gone
And all that's to come
And everything under the sun is in tune
But the sun is eclipsed by the moon.

As part of my withdrawal symptoms and compulsively checking the "Cantr not working? Check here first." thread, whenever I see Doug or Piscator or EchoMan in the Online thing, I immediately look at the "Who Is Online" page to see if they're posting to the thread I just mentioned to say that Cantr is back up.

And hence where my Thought Or Rant of the Day thing came from.

I've really been missing one character in particular the last few days. It's not withdrawal, but more like mourning a passed friend. *sighs* Missing a different one today, too.

It's getting desperate now... :?
I've even taken to using that machine in the bedroom that sucks stuff off the floor and keeps it in a little bag..!!

But... I am checking less... and caring less...

I'm not really feeling the withdrawl. It's actually given me some time to do other stuff like go on my vacation. But now I am back and with nothing to do. XP Damn my other game for not working >.<

Sylvie's missing Landis something fierce, which makes me miss Sylvie. Funny how I could go weeks without really thinking about it, and then have it suddenly pop up like that. Yes, it's gotten to the point where I'm explicitly outing my characters, but what else is there to do? It's like the last desperate act to glean some kind of active enjoyment from a near mortally wounded game.

That is among the worst things I have seen since starting Cantr, that post right there.

Okay, okay, yes! LOL Landis is missing Sylvie big bunches too. The inner Landis at least. Haha. I miss playing my characters, but I'm just saying it's kinda nice not checking cantr every other second. << >> And it makes my family feel better to know I'm not on the computer all the time. But I miss playing Landis.. ugh... and a few others definitely. Damnit! See what you made me think about Doug!! LOL

:D

I know what you mean about the freedom from logging in all the time. It's the same feeling I get at the end of TV season - you've enjoyed watching the shows, but you're relieved that you have your evenings back.

Oh gosh, not me. I don't check the game homepage anymore, but I'm constantly stalking the forums, and I start getting all nervous and even slightly panicky when I can't either due to bad place to check on my phone (i.e. school, although I do get on then also, but only when nothing is happening) or my phone battery is utterly dead or close to it; the latter increases the nervous panicky feeling. Of course, I still manage to put on a good face when in public.

And tomorrow I'm going ice-skating with a friend and some of her friends, so I won't be doing much Cantr-forum-stalking at all. But hopefully it'll be able to help lift Cantr out of my mind long enough to remember that Cantr isn't real life, and that I have friends in real life whom I've been neglecting somewhat since I started playing the game. And I'll be able to ice-skate without the mental torment of worrying about whether Cantr is back up.

Sometimes I wonder whether my withdrawal symptoms are getting worse or subsiding: for example, I just now wrote a huge paragraph about how real life is more important than Cantr (which it is, sometimes unfortunately…), but earlier today, after reading another friend's research paper (she's in AP Psychology) I now have the death of one of my characters completely planned out (as long as people go along with my horrible roleplaying leading up to the events that will cause it). In addition to that, I attempted twice to draw my char Snick in my sketchbook during art class (attempt one using a pen was an epic fail, while attempt two with graphite pencil is still in progress, but so far a lot better).

It has been nice to have time free from Cantr, though now I kinda miss it more than I did earlier. Finding those spare minutes and hours here and there that once upon a time Cantr filled. It was a great escape and I'd rather escape those minutes role playing and interacting with the community than sitting around watching tv.

I really miss 2 fantastic developments that occurred just before the downtime :( R.E Kent and a chars lover coming out of the closet.

Kent came out of the c-? Wait, I probably read that wrong.
