How do I travel?

Just starting the game, been collecting wood, mushrooms, but would like to travel.........how is this done

if you go to the locations tab, it lists the roads that lead out of the town. next to each there is a button to travel that way, but the button doesn't show if you're working on a project so make sure to cancel your project first.

Another important hint is, that travelling usually takes a few real time days.
Your character should be stocked up on food, since you can't be sure to find food on your destination.

Yes and it has to be real food and not healing foods. Healing foods you have to eat manually, try and find some real food. Oh and welcome to the game, I hope you enjoy it :).
