That's probably the reason.
And we have a lot of people playing from work/school/campus, so it's usually less crowded on weekends and holidays.

Not where I live. It's been raining a good portion of the day.

Same. Why do you think I'm here, instead of kayaking on the river?

I could ask myself the same question, except that we don't live near a river to kayak on, and the lakes nearby are infested with alligators galore. Ahhh, the joys of living in Florida. You know six feet is actually pretty average?

The only person I know of who will really get that is Alladinsane.

There are two where my char is in the forests on Fu. They've both spoken upon spawning, but have been really quiet since then (probably because their players realised they were on Fu due to a handy-dandy map on the ground and decided not to play said characters therefore, but I could be wrong).
RotD: Why do I get better signal in class than on the bus? That's seriously no fun.
M(ajor)RotD: And I hate it when people walk slow in the hall in front of you in huge files that are impossible to get past. What do I hate more? When the entire file stops to eat each others' faces.
My response: And it is therefore perfectly appropriate to describe my feelings towards the subject.

I would put more on Fu. My char has worked hard there and is a just a few years from being a civil town. Well, ok its me so Im not all civil but mostly but I have visions of what I have seen happen before in places that own nothing and suddenly the appearance of iron will swing that around.

I would just erase it completely.

At least Fu is one of the remaining regions where a char is actually able to build something up.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Where I am, if we were to civilise it, it would probably take no less than a Cantr decade. I was supposed to be heading back to the coast to the town my char spawned (the most developed town I know of on Fu, but I've only seen a very small portion of it) several weeks ago, but complications arose and we're...still....there. As of four days ago, anyway. Two deaths, two--no, three newspawns! (But the third one I am referring to spawned while we were still in the mountains, and considerably older than the other two.)
I have seen no hematite whatsoever in that town, nor have I seen limestone. I've seen them on maps, but never as a natural resource in a place I've been to. And I've seen the basic bronze ingredients (tin and copper) and have considered introducing bronze to the town, but I can't find the zinc or magnesium (or whatever it was) to make it. So until somebody in a ship shows up with the materials to make a jeep as well as some sledgehammers and resources to make iron-producing products, it's going to be awhile before total urbanisation happens.
No way! Don't erase it! Despite the loneliness and sleepy newspawns (as well as other unpleasant events that I won't get into here because I've complained about them enough elsewhere), that is where I've experienced the most enjoyable roleplaying in the whole game! I love that place, despite its primitiveness. My favourite character to roleplay resides there.

Abe wrote:I would just erase it completely. It is way too huge and takes away spawns from the other English islands. And most of the newspawns (at least in the regions of Fu that I'm familiar with) will either try hard and die or not try as Snickiedoo said and then die.

Okay, I won't erase it then. I've a couple a couple of characters on that island myself and I enjoy some of the situations there. Sometimes.
Piscator, you're right in a way. But just like Snickiedoo I can't see that happening there without external help. Too many locations, too long roads, too many of the same/useless resources next to each other, too many...alright, I'll stop.

That's actually something I noticed, too. Resources on Fu are spread out pretty far and most places a pretty boring resource wise. Still, with good maps and a few dedicated resource runners this wouldn't be such a big problem.
I might have good news for you.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
The best map my char has is one I compiled in Paint of their short travels with another one that we found written in Polish, but there was a Polish dictionary on the ground there too with some of the translations. I found magnetite and zinc (it was tin I never saw, not zinc) but there are still a few things I was never able to translate.
liście (I put this through an on-line translator, and all it came up with was "list")
nefryt (I think it's jade, but I'm not entirely sure).
I just looked closer at the wiki, and it says phosphorous, not magnesium. I haven't seen that anywhere on my map either, unless it's one of the few things I couldn't translate.
On second thought, maybe bronze isn't in the foreseeable future for Fu. At least, not anywhere near where my char is.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Im almost ready to make iron on Fu and my char gathered all of it on that island. Its hard as hell and you have to be really wakeful. When the animals went crazy it was tough. Oh she is in her mid 30's, its not an easy chore if your wanting that char to be one that is in alot of conversation, but I will give her one heck of a go at it. She can also make silk cloth, has knowledge of other islands and has friends with steel weapons. she has also found noted from people that seem to have good functioning towns. Met some Scrab Hunters once that I think got lost since she didnt find them in the next town they said they where going to and she couldnt give directions past there to her home.

Fu is a trap. People should be well aware of it.
