RotD -- I hate the people advertising against the proposed casino at a nearby shopping mall are stating that they are against because the grungy gamblers will mix with the decent law-abiding families shopping at the mall ( ), while putting the casino at the existing racetrack 40 miles will create more jobs, more revenue, and keep those dirty filthy, gamblers away. Why do I hate this?:

A) Most people who frequent casinos are family people themselves -- businessmen and women, grandmothers, etc.

B) How will shifting the location generate a different amount of revenue or jobs? If anything, it might drain money away from the racetrack. But it certainly takes the same number of people to run an identical casino at point A then it does at point B

C) THE MOST CYNICAL REASON OF ALL -- the ads aren't put out by concerned local civic-minded people who don't gamblers hanging around -- it's by the people who run the racetrack, and want the money to go to THEM. They LOVE the grungy, filthy gamblers. They want MORE of them. I hate lying lairs who lie.

And to add a little fuel to the fire I spawned a new char last night only for someone to try to put him in a room alone to work just hours after he was spawned. Be nice to your newspawns people! There are people wanting to play.

...and yet I know I'm contributing to the issue by having almost half my characters traveling at this moment. Walking the lonely roads isn't helping the chatter in towns, but at least my ones in-town are slightly more awake this week.

Why is it that I wake up early on the weekends, but I'm infinitely more tired on school days? I've been awake for an hour now; it's 7am here. It's a weekend. I'm not supposed to be awake this early!

Edit: What makes it worse is that suddenly, nobody seems to be awake, and all seven of my chars' towns are quiet. I know a lot of you people are awake!

Okay, today's the big day, I'm going to be waiting tables at an alumni banquet. I don't feel nervous yet but it's gonna be a big event, lasting past midnight.

I was kind of getting that feeling or air (or whatever it's called) from your char when I was roleplaying today, I'm not sure why.

I never thought you of all people would be brought down to that point, though. Other than the char deaths, what happened (or are the char deaths the only thing making you like this)? You're not too emotionally attached to your chars are you? I mean, I know that a well-written roleplay can make anybody teary-eyed (happened to me recently) or happy or whatever, but having your will to play the game at all affected by another char's death is never good, or at least, that's how I see it.

I'm not saying you should unsubscribe; that's completely up to you. But you may need a break if you get to the point where everything that happens in Cantr affects your personal life, a day to concentrate on real life and not worry whether so-and-so got whatever finished and whether the newspawns have enough food and whatnot. And then come back and remember all the great reasons why you play and love Cantr.

Here's my rant: I finally get around to getting back on Cantr, get about 6 good characters...and then my wireless thing breaks.
And it's like $60 for a new one and we have to save $10 to top off rent.
So till I can buy a new one, no Cantr. And no warning for my poor charries.
So to anyone who ran into my charries suddenly dropping like flies for seemingly no reason, terribly sorry.

It's not just one dead. But many of them. And well yes I get sad but thats over quickly always.

It's also too quiet in cantr. And lately it doesn't really pay to make friends or plans as chars keep dropping dead.

And todays rp is actually not that good from me because I play on phone and it's not great to play on it. So I rather not to do long rp from my side as sometimes if I do enter the browser closes down without getting the text posted.

I just don't have that much fun playing lately as there will always be sadness because a char died I liked. And no much time for fun rp in game as it's so quiet.

Problem is I can't unsub as I feel like letting people down. And also because of certain people and chars.

But the player base and amount of chars keep going down. That depresses me a bit. And I wonder if it ever will get better. As it's mostly lately active chars dying that helped keep towns lively.

I also never thought I would get to this point. But there's no way I will unsub. Though I might be cutting down on chars. (don't worry anyone it will only be those without people really caring about them, two are at that point now)

Also most of my chars have a partner now and almost all are not very active. That also cuts away a lot of activity thats fun.
