I have had a number of charries spawn in a place where another charrie has a name related to, or like theirs. For example I accidently named a charrie the same name as someone from a popular tv show. Another person in that area had the name of another person in that same show.
Also I find sometimes I spawn a male charrie who ends up finding a person with the female equvilant of that name in the same place.
Im not saying its built into the game or anything but it is funny.
Name of your charries defines spawn location???

My chars all spawn with names like: ehdh, rtwtr, fwefe, ztesrew....and so on. Not sure how that affects your theory.
I figure out their names shortly after they spawn and I see some of their stats, location, and start to get a feel for their personality.

just like me, Sum
just I use single letters of digits.
I think that must have been a coincidence, Jack. If you're using some common names you're more than certain to run on someone with similar or related name

yep, I tend ot name my characters "guy" or "girl" until they are either asked, or a day passes and I get soem vague inspiration for their personality, then I'll name them properly. I usually have a name in-mind, but as far as the input text, they start "generic" usually. interesting theory though!

After my char introduced himself to a newspawn, she said her name which is familiar to my char's. Now, they're in a relationship and will be a great couple.

Re: Name of your charries defines spawn location???
I think I've only used a placeholder name once but it ended up becoming a permanent one. Also one of my early characters spawned with a name that was very difficult to pronounce and soon came up with an alternative name that much nice and simple, but everybody was already calling her by the name she had initially been introduced by, so even though she occasionally told people they could use the alternative, no one ever did.

I name my chars after spawning. I usually wait for someone to introduce themselves and try to give my char a related name.
