What I'd like to see is:

 Players able to choose what eating events show/light up (all food, hunger only, none at all)

 Individual characters being able to ignore certain things (like knocking and whispering) if they so choose.

Those would solve some of my major gripes with the game, as well as for a lot of other people, without forcing change on people who don't mind it the way it is.

I agree with new.vogue.nightmare that there should be a checkbox for "Show eating in events" so that people could choose wether they want to see it or not. That would be great!!! Can you do that, please please please? *Puppy dog face*

OR: Is it possible that eating would appear in the events, but that the link wouldn't turn bright unless something else happened? So you could see how much you've eaten, but you didn't have to check it if you didn't want to? I really hate it that I have to click on travelling chars every day, wondering if they had run into another traveller, just to notice that nothing else has happened than eating.

My personal opinion about this is:
If players complain about having to click once a day on a character then there can't be many real issues in Cantr. Nice. :)

Cantr is just too good at the moment, because you're working hard away at appeasing us, THomas. Keep up the fabolous work!

I like the new.vogue approach :P

Allowing people to custom to their tastes is the best way for something like this.

I like it too, but that would be a lot of work and would slow down the game, don't you think?

Instead of...

When event happens, light up all characters at location

It would be...

When event happens, check first character for preferences, check second for preferences, etc etc

It would just be too much work, too, and not really worth it for such a small silly thing.

Making eating show up on Events but not cause lighting up is not easily codable: http://www.cantr.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=172059#172059

(sort of a bump, except that it also kills most of the suggestion - meh)

If the idea of colour for the light up is put in, it would also be nice to see a critical event tag (for when someone is attacked, or something important happens). Make it red so that it is nice and visible.

As mentioned in many threads, the programmers* try to make as much of the game as possible accessible to blind users, and colour ain't going to help. I know certain other things are represented by colour vchanges, but hopefully no more without some form of alt txt alternative.

*For which I am truly grateful.

You can be privately smug without loudly proclaiming it.
