Well, I guess it is better than nothing...

But this would still make it economically impossible to work as a hunter in primitive societies and in the more modern ones where trade lines are set no one would be interested in it :)

The reason cooking is so hard (besides the shovel thing, which is stupid) is that there is no fuel in most places. In the real world, it's not a 5 day hike to firewood, as a rule. Also, sociedies in places without fuel have been known to burn dried dung as fuel.

And for the shovel thing, considering how little meat a firepit cooks, couldn't you just make it with a 'digging stick'? That would be a really useful low end tool: It could aso speed root vegitable harvests somewhat.

Also could come in bone version (100g large bones?)

That dung idea has possibility. Rather than have them produce the stuff at a rate to drown life out, add an option to "Gather spoor" next to the "Beat the crap out of the mountain goat" button.

It won't make the food taste good, but you do what you can.

@Pirog: More ways of preparing meat have been created,as well as something Anthony eluded to regarding preparation without requiring shovels.

@Agar: Animals aren't currently able to create things. Dung as fuel is a good suggestion for when they are able to do that.
