Titan beetles

Postby EchoMan » Mon Aug 02, 2010 8:32 pm

The titan beetles of this game must be pre-historic dinosaur beetles or something. One just had one of my chars save 43% with an iron shield. :D

Well, you can make shields out of their shells, what did you expect? ;)

I don't think the amounts you save using a shield are very accurate anyways. I've saved 40+% against a punch before, and an unblocked punch only does a few damage, at least by my experience. I think the same is true of wasters too, and I'm sure of other things as well.

Oh, yes, that's true. The event doesn't display the actually saved damage, but the maximum amount of damage you could save.

I always imagined them to be at least that size anyway.

I just noticed the beetle has an antenna. Are they remote controlled?

I bet they are! It attacked again today. (or it could possibly be the pin that holds it on to the display case) :)

I always thought scarabs must be bigger than a Cantrian and look more like something from "Aliens" in order to do as much damage as they can. I've seen people RP them as cockroach-sized, but that image just doesn't seem to convey how dangerous they are (or used to be, I haven't had a char around them in a long time, but think back to a newspawn I had on Dhung that almost got ripped in half right after spawning).
